I am staying at the Sable Palms resort at the Marriott World Center. It has a kitchen so that will save money, but does anyone else have any pointers on how to save money on things such as DW? <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused"> :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Eat breakfast in your room, take snacks with you to the parks. Take water bottles with you (either fill with ice from your room or fill w/ H2O and freeze over night. You can even take some powdered drinks with you to stir into your water bottles for a trea. Juice boxes also work well. We have taken a picnic lunch and stashed it in the lockers.
Food portions are large in DW so meals can be split.
Watch your trinkets and toys; these add up quickly.
There are lots of coupons in trourist magazines available, take advantage of these. AND, always ask at your hotel, we've gotten MANY good coupons (Buy 1 get 1 free, 20% off) at the front desk! :D

Plan on buying just one thing that your kids would really like at dw, all the other trinkets you can probably find at home for alot cheaper. Also eat a late lunch/early dinner, you miss the crowds and its cheaper..but be prepared with late night snacks in your room. Have fun!!

- Eat 2 large meals (at 10:00-11:00 AM) and (4:00-5:00 PM) instead of 3 regular sized meals, by eating at non-traditional times, you miss the big crowds.

- Buy 12 packs of soda at WalMart/Grocery Store , use cups w/ ice from hotel room to chill soda or keep in refrig. if you have one. Never order soda at a restaurant-they stick you good for it, drink water/coffee and have a can later.

-Use toll roads, they save so much of your valuable time and gasoline. I've burned up half a tank sitting on i-4 going nowhere.

Take advantage of your great resort villa! :)

Stock up on your favorite easy breakfast and evening treats. We bring Dove ice cream bars to the pool and have gourmet cookies or pastries with an evening pot of our favorite coffee in the villa.

Pack sandwiches, pretzels and apples into a soft-sided cooler with a freezer pack. Bring it to a locker at the theme/water park or that great pool area at Marriott Orlando World Center. Buy the stuff you can't pack (egg rolls, soup, fries or ice cream) at counter service and enjoy! Avoid peak meal hours and miss the crowds.

Definitely spend at least one day enjoying your resort amenities and relaxing mid-week. There is plenty there to explore! :) It'll make the rest of your week more fun, being rested, and it saves $ off admissions. If your room ends up being too far to walk to the MOWC pools and restaurants, remember there's a free shuttle (just call).

Half fill your drink bottles with juice, lemonade or water at night and freeze them. In the morning, top them off and bring them to the parks with you. Refill at water fountains.

Don't forget to bring a small amount of bubblebath for that jacuzzi in your room! On a rainy day, the kids will love it! (You may like it, especially when your feet ache after days in the parks ;)) A capful at a time is plenty.

For park passes, decide ahead of time on how many actual days you will actually need at the theme parks and/or minor parks. Then look for the best price on tickets to provide just that. Don't buy more than you'll need.

If you plan to just use the resort amentities or shop on your travel days and if you plan on a "day off" from the theme parks, a 5 day pass will work well. If you want to add Pleasure Island or a water park, get a Hopper Plus. Unless you have teens who are dying to do Disney Quest, skip it. JMHO.

If you want to visit a non-Disney park(s) AND you're generally sticking with major theme parks, the Bounce Back tickets may be cheaper for your Disney days. Hope that helps - have fun! :D
