Pointe Orlando - any good these days?

My wife (who loves her shopping obviously) has always spent some time at Pointe Orlando but I have heard reports that many of the shops have closed down and the area is now not worth going out of your way to visit.
The kids used to love FAO Swartz (spelling?) but with that gone as well I'm wondering if our "Shopping time" would be best spent elsewhere! (Or perhaps discarded completely.......nah, I'd never get away with that!)

Any thoughts you shopaholics out there?
