I was curious as to how long it takes for the whole process

Generally, you should set up a 3 way call with member services, one the party transferring the points gives member services their info, the receiving party comes online and give their info. Then the transaction should be done.

Any insight into transferring to yourself? As we have 2 UY Aug and Dec. I want to use Aug UY to book in March but need more points. If I transfer points from Dec UY I assume they can't be used until the 7 month mark for Dec.

The transferred points will retain their home priority.

I assume you have Aug 2025 use year and Dec 2025 use year points. Those Dec points can be transferred to that Aug 2025 use year membership now for doing a March 2026 reservation, or the Aug use year membership points can be transferred to the Dec 2025 membership now for use in a March 2026 reservation. Since transferred points always retain their own resort identity, you will be able to make a reservation using those combined points during the 11-month window if, and only if, both sets of points are for the same DVC Resort and being used for that DVC Resort. Otherwise, the points can be combined only for a reservation made at 7-months out.

It depends. IF you transfer December 2025 use year to August 2025 use year, you should be able to use them....but since they are from two different use months, they may not show up online, you may need to call Member Services to book it, but you'll be on the phone with them to do the transfer anyway. I would definitely call Member Services for clarification.

Yes, that will woek because even when transferred they still act as Dec UY points,..they just sit in a temporary contract in your Aug UY.

Because you’ll be booking a trip 7 months or less, the points will work online.

But you want see them until you go to book and have to choose the contracts.

They don’t show up on your dashboard.

Thinking about looking for a transfer partner for a xxxxxx We are Oct UY, should I look for another Oct UY for transfer or what would be our options? Never done a transfer in or out so totally ignorant of the process and the workings of the points once we would have control of them.

I deleted the specific dates as those can’t be shared.

But the key to transfers is that the points retain all their same rules.

They just sit in your account. You simply want to get points that are valid when you want to travel.

Obviously, getting Oct 2026 UY points makes it the easiest to keep track of since the rules are all the same, but as long as what you are getting work for the trip, then it’s good.

Yes. Nothing changes with transfers for the points. They just sit in your account and not the other owners.

The set up a temporary contract in your membership to hold them.

Let’s say you got Aug 2026 points. They are still Aug 2026 points and follow all the rules of an Aug UY.
