Point transfer with points that are in holding

My parents are DVC members and I am an authorized user on their account.

A friend of mine has points that are in holding and need to be used.

Can she transfer these points in holding to me?
And, if yes, when they are in my name, does the 'hold' status of only being able to book 30 days out still apply? I know they HAVE to be used by the end date of holding, but I'm hoping I can use them quicker than the 30 day mark.

DH and I have the opportunity to go to Hawaii for 4 nights in January and I need to make those ressies ASAP as there is very limited availability for the nights we want to go. But if they stay at the current holding status with friend's account, we can't call until Dec 6.

Holding means you can use them 60 days out. I think you can transfer them as long as they weren't banked points and are current year points.

Why did I think holding points could only be used 60 days out? Can you confirm that it is 60 and not 30?

From the Home Resort Rules and Regulations:

14. Holding Account Vacation Points. . . . . "Holding Account Vacation Points" are subject to the following restrictions:

1) Holding Account Vacation Points can only be used to book reservations within sixty (60) days of check in.

2) Holding Account Vacation Points must be used for reservations during their Use Year. Any Holding Account Vacation Points remaining in the Holding Account at the end of the Use Year will expire.

3) Holding Account Vacation Points cannot be Banked.

4) Holding Account Vacation Points used to reserve and stay during the last 60 days of a Use Year may be used for reservations at any DVC Resort.

This was just done to my account. A member I just met on the DIS had some points in holding, wouldn't be using 30 of them since they were current year and expiring in January. The first person at MS told him he could transfer them. The second told him he couldn't so he booked one night for me, and had 4 points leftover. Then a manager called him back and told him he could, so he transferred the 4 leftover points to me. and I was able to combine them with some points from my account for the other night for my Aulani trip coming up next month. Totally possible, you may need a manager though since apparently not all CMs at MS know this.

Points go into holding if you cancel 30 days or less before the start of the reservation. Maybe that's what has you confused.
