Point transfer question

Considering having BWV points with a Dec. '12 UY transferred into my acct. Will I be able to use those points for a Nov. '12 trip at BWV, borrow them essentially?

No you can not borrow transfered in points

Yep. You can bank them into the next year, but you can not borrow against them.

Since a Nov 2012 trip falls in your Dec 2011 UY, you cannot borrow those points. They are 2012 points and would be good for a trip from Dec 1, 2012 to Nov 30, 2013 (unless you banked them).

How do point transfers work? I tried different forums but couldn't seem to find this explained anywhere. Can I only transfer this use-year's points or can I borrow and then transfer?

You can transfer current UY points as well as the following UY points--although I was able to get 2012 UY points while still in my 2010 UY.

Once points are borrowed or banked, however, you can not transfer them. So, if you decide you want to transfer out points, you would want to do that before you did anything with them.

Each membership is allowed one transfer, in or out of their membership, each UY. When I got my transfer, even though it happened in my 2010 UY, and in the 2011 calendar year (June UY--transfer happened in May), they told me it was my one and only for my June 2012 UY.

Thank you. So, if I got this right, I can transfer both this uy-11 and next uy-12 at the same time? Just curious if I decide to rent or transfer so I get it correct. I've transferred in the past but with friends.

Banking and Borrowing are not considered transfers correct? I know they are final once you bank or borrow, but if you borrowed, I got confused in the specifics in this thread.

So if I was going in 2012, with 2012 and borrowed 2013 points, and wanted to add on to my reservations, could I transfer in 2012 points from another user and use them in 2012?

This is purely hypothetical just to help me better understand.

Just a little confused ...trying to get this straight...so please forgive me we want to go on a cruise March 2013, by banking and borrowing UY13 points, we will have 300 points but still need another 100 points, a friend of ours said they would transfer their UY13 points to us but we aren't sure if they can; they are using their UY12 points for their vacation this year....can they transfer their UY13 points to us? Not sure if I am saying it correctly...

They can, but those points cannot be borrowed. If you need them in your 2012UY, you won't be able to use them for that trip.

Actually, I have a December UY!! So, the ones you guys will need are the 2012/Dec. The question is, can I give you guys 2011 points and you bank them for 2013use! Tell Steve I said hi!

If you transfer 2011 points, they can be banked into 2012, but not into 2013.
