How do point transfers work?

I may need 50 points for a dec 2010, is transfer the best way to go about this?

Is this the same as renting or do the points actually transfer into my account?

When one member transfers points to another member, they become the property of the member who received them. You will know have control over them and can use them in conjunction with your other points.

Transferred points still retain their own UY and home resort so they follow the same 11/7 rule. BUt, if you get points for the same resort that you own, then you can use them together at the 11 month window. If they are a different resort, then you must wait until the 7 month window to combine them.

When you rent a reservation, the member makes it for you and they remain in control of it the entire time. Personally, if it was me, I would prefer a transfer rather than just renting.

Point transfers are final transactions and can't be undone. You are also limited to one transfer (in or out) per use year.
