Point transfer question

I looked on the rent/trade board and it said I had to post here for questions about transferring...the search engine appears to be down, I went back 6 pages and saw nothing, so sorry if this has already been posted.

We have been checking out airfare for our trip in May and we would actually save more by flying out late Wednesday night (May 3) and buying additional points for a studio, then flying out any time Thursday. I have checked and OKW and SSR are both available (although we'd love BCV) and so we will probably be trying to get 21 points transferred over (we still have 3 of our own) for two nights at SSR.

How does this work? Is it generally a same day transaction where we pay with paypal and the other DVC member calls and transfers the points? Is there a contract? Do DVC members with lots of posts and time on the boards ever post to transfer?

We're not interested in renting - just a nice clean transfer so we can pay and control the points. Anyone with experience in this - I really appreciate advice/feedback before we hop over to the rent/trade board.

transfering is much easier to do than to rent. The member only needs to transfer to your DVC account instead of booking a vaction for someone. Much easier for them that way. Many people have paypal and can get it done quickly. When I got points from another member, they transfered the next day after I sent the money the night before(after ms was closed). In a few hours in the morning, we had it all set , they emailed me to tell me it was in my account, then I called to set up my reservation. All set. Very easy. goodluck.
