Point rental sites - summer success

For those of you who have rented points during peak periods, either on this site, other sites, or personal transactions, how successful were you in getting the DVC resort you wanted at 11 months and at 7 months? How often did you have to take the leftovers at 7 months or less?

While I can't answer your question as I have never rented points- I can say that summer is not a peak time where places other than BCV need to be rented at exactly 11 months out at WDW. Now most rooms at GFV and standard rooms anywhere but AKL as well as Concierge and Value rooms at AKL are likely to be harder to get and need home resort priority during this time.

Great answer, I'm also interested in knowing that even if you're ready to rent at 11 months, is it likely there are enough "rentable" points available at that time.

Not always. It's not unusual to see posts here that say the brokers do not have points at 11 months for what the poster wanted. I'm sure that is what made the brokers offer more to owners of certain resorts if they had points valid for 11 month reservations at those resorts. Even so, they aren't able to always satisfy demand.
