Point planning question, help....

We just booked our next fall vacation.
We used all of our VWL points on 9days of a 1br. Had to use our BCV to book the last 2 days,(11 total) so at least we have some where to stay.
This is where I get a little confused. Out of the 11 day total we want to stay the first 6 days at the VWL got it, the next 5 days we are going to try to switch to BLT. Now the BLT 1br. is more points than either the current combo of WVL & BCV that we currently have booked. Since we have no points left in our WVL contract but we have points available in our BCV contract, how does this affect waitlisting. Can I WL the last five days as a block at 7 mos. or does it have to be broken up by contract(3 days VWL) and a seperate WL for the 2 days (BCV)?
How about the high point value for the BLT room vs. WVL and no points left in the VWL contract?

If your contracts have the same UY and are under the same membership, then at the 7 month window, all points can be combined for booking stays without any issue.

So, if you can't get BLT and have to WL, the way I understand it is that they will use up your current points first.

Having said that, I would just make sure that you tell the CM this when booking and remind them that this is what you want done. While it should happen, it never hurts to reinforce it.

Now, if they are different memberships because of different UY's, then you would have to transfer points between the two as you can't combine points for a single nights transaction without that step. So, you would not be able to put in a WL as one single request.

This is the case they are 2 different UY. I am going to make a mess of the 7 month phone call. Do they have the capacity to hold the rooms while a transfer is done. I wouldn't want to do it then see the rooms disappear during the process.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Unfortunately, they won't hold the room while the transfer is done. Matter of fact, they can't always guarantee you that you wont' lose your initial room during a 7 month switch--which, personally, I think should be changed.

I think you are going to have to WL some with VWL and some with BCV. If you end up having to do any borrowing, I wonder if once the reservation is made, you can transfer the points after the fact, have them reallocate the points and then allow you to bank the current points (borrowed points can't be returned so those would have to stay).
