Point me in the right direction

Can some one point me in the right direction? I have questions about renting out points, but it seems like all of the posts on the Rent/Trade are an advertisement for the points for sale. I just need to ask a few questions as a DVC owner that wants to rent out an existing reservation. I'm sure this is right in front of my face, but I just don't see it. Can someone provide me with a link?

The posts are not points for sale ( ie sale would mean an owner selling their membership ) Points that you see on rent/trade board are for rent postings meaning that a DVC owner is willing to make a reservation for you with the amount of points required for the reservation you'd want ( based upon availability of course ) and the price posted ( $xx per point ) is what the owner wants to be paid to rent these points needed for the reservation. You are actually not getting any points in this transaction - what you are getting is a reservation at a DVC resort arranged by the owner of those points, and also, you would not be calling Member Services to arrange the reservation; the member who owns the points is the only person permitted to contact Member Services and that member controls the reservation up until you check-in (meaning if they happen to be unscrupulous they can also cancel the reservation before you check in). Anything that pertains to the reservation is handled by the member - such as arranging Magical Express, noting that you want Disney Dining Plan, room requests, etc. Read the stickies at top of Rent/Trade board to get better insight into the rental process.

I guess I worded that wrong. I'm already a DVC owner. I have a reservation that I want to sell (points will go into Holding if I cancel at this point), but I've never done this before. I have few questions that I would like to ask other members that have rented (ie. would you rent to someone who has a low post count, how do I handle the rental with MS since they basically say you can't rent out your points, etc.). I'm looking for a place to post my questions. The Rent/Trade board just seems to be a series of posts from people wanting to sell or wanting to buy. I just don't want to make a mistake if I rent out my points.

Once you are within 30 days of the arrival date, you are welcome to offer your existing reservation on the DIS DVC Rent/Trade Board.

"Hold status" points can be used up until your next batch of points arrive. For example, if you own a June use year and they go into "hold status" you would still have until 6/1/0 to use them. I am sure you have exhausted all your options and I have no idea your use year but thought I would mention. Sorry to hear about your situation and hope everything works out the best for you.
