We recently purchased at BWV from the TSS. We have not gotten our "welcome home" package yet so I have nothing to refer to.

When we purchased we got an "extra" 37 points that the previous owner had not used. Are we able to bank these points into our 2005 June use year? If we are able to bank, when do we have to use them by? We are not planning another trip until 2/06.

Another question on banking is are banked points used first for ressies? In other words do you use banked points and then dive into this years points when making a ressie?

Sorry for the rookie questions, but I don't want to lose the "extra" points.

TIA
Gary

Banking deadlines/restrictions depend upon your use year and the number of points you purchased. If those "extra" points are banked from a previous use year, they cannot be banked again and must be used before the end of the current use year. If the "extras" are current use year points, we'd need to know the number of points you purchased and your use year to give you an accurate anser.

MS should use the banked points first, but it is always good to confirm that. FWIW, I always ask MS for a status of my points before I hang up. If thier status doesn't match mine, we starighten it out right then. Much easier than finding out later that MS did something you didn't intend.

No need to apolgise - we love to answer questions. Feel free to ask as many as you like. If you tell us your use year and the number of points in your contract, we can give you a very definitive answer to your banking quesiton.

Thanks for the quick response . We have a June UY and the contract is for 250 points.

If the extra points are 2004 use year points, you can bank them as long as you do it before the end of March, 2005.

If the extras were originally 2003 use year points (because the previous owner banked them into the 2004 use year), they would have to be used for a stay prior to May 31, 2005.

With a June use year, you can bank up to 100% of your annual allotment, if you do it before the end of November.

You may bank up to 50% of your annual allotment if you do it before the end of February and up to 25% of your annual allotment if you do it before the end of March.

Assuming the previous owner did not bank any 2004 points and that the 37 "extras" are 2004 points, you can bank them anytime before March 31, 2005 because 37/250 is about 15% of your total.

After you bank the 37 points, they will need to be used between 6/1/2005 and 5/31/2006 or they will expire.

HTH. Post again if you need more clarification.

Best wishes -

Thanks Carol for your help. They are 2004 points so I will bank them as soon as I get my membership number.
