POFQ

We stayed at POFQ last June for 8 nights..first time staying there. We enjoyed it. We are DVC members too. IT depends on how much time you spend at the resort too. If you are in the parks most of the time....POFQ should be fine if you are used to staying Deluxe. POFQ is a smaller resort, very quaint and lovely. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We were considering a stay at the FQ, but just can’t do it. Unfortunately we have always stayed deluxe except for one night POR which was ok, just not deluxe :-). I will always recommend to people that have never been to DW to never start off deluxe. Once you do it’s really tough to downgrade. I think we are officially deluxe snobs :-). Wish we weren’t as we could save thousands.

We have always stayed deluxe club level- headed to POFQ for a week during spring break. I know it won't be the same as deluxe, but I am actually looking forward to trying something new! :)

WE bounce between mostly Deluxe and POFQ> I love thata little moderate, and while it does not have all the amenities that a Deluxe offers, it sure is pretty. My favorite time there is December. The theming is lovely, and it is a welcomed respite from the busy hectic Epcot and Monorail resorts that so many guests flock to visit. The soft jazzy music turns to Holiday choices, and again, takes you away to a different environment.

The grounds are pretty, and make the stroll to the lobby, food courts, gift shop, and the pool so enjoyable.

POFQ is not a deluxe and honestly does not try to pretend to be. It offers a nice clean room, beautiful grounds, peaceful views of the river, and alternate transportation using the water taxi to DS and POR.

Thank you everyone for the responses. Lots to think about. It sounds like a lovely resort but we need to decide if the transportation is a huge factor. That is my main concern is driving times - I'm not a bus fan.

I think we did decide to forgo the dining plan. I do appreciate all the personal insights on the resort. I'm still pricing the deluxe resorts standard rooms and hoping a discount comes out.

We will be happy just going again as we didn't think we'd go again this soon. Thank you again everyone!

We stayed at Poly (regular, not club level) 3 years ago and POFQ this year. We probably had more fun this trip and really liked the resort. Poly was undergoing construction and the pool was closed when we were there, though, so we didn't have the full experience! We also don't do DDP, so that isn't a factor for us.

We had a car and drove everywhere except MK (we did drive there once, to indulge the kid who wanted a boat/monorail ride). Most drives were short, 10-ish minutes? Bus to MK was easy and totally worth it in comparison to the nonsense that is driving there. Definitely not as convenient as the monorail from Poly though, that's hard to beat.

I'm a reforming deluxe snob (WL is my all time favorite). I was priced out, especially with two trips per year. I was not a fan of our first two moderate stays at Coronado -- the resort was TOO big, for one. Last trip we stayed at POFQ for the first time and I LOVED it! Granted, it's not the Lodge, but it is quaint and beautiful and there are many strong points. One bus stop is a big plus, the small size of the resort, the "brick" streets with carriages. I found that same peaceful feeling at POFQ that I so enjoyed at WL.

Well, we just got back last night! I was pleasantly surprised with our moderate stay. It was way different from our GF- RPC stays, but it was still very nice!

The main thing I missed was the balcony! I am an early riser so it's nice to have a place to go to when everyone else is still sleeping. I found that we spend more time enjoying the resort when we are at GF-- this was a lot faster paced trip without as much time at the resort. I know the deluxe rooms are a bit bigger, but honestly I didn't really much notice the difference. Maybe it was because we really only used the room as a place to sleep at night.

The food court was nice, but I do think the quality of food didn't match Gasparilla's at GF. Breakfast was good, and the beignets were great! Dinner was not so wonderful... just ok.

I do like the new flooring (we were in a refurbished room), BUT..... I found that Mousekeeping didn't touch it AT ALL! I noticed that there were some bits of lint and things that stayed in the EXACT same spots the entire 6 nights we were there. I have never wanted a broom and dustpan so bad in all my life! I looked under the bed yesterday before we checked out to look for anything that might have fallen underneath and I was SHOCKED! It looks like the new floors were installed and all the furniture was moved back in PRIOR to the floors being cleaned up of all the installation mess. It was pretty nasty underneath the bed. I would have thought they would have cleaned the floors good prior to moving furniture back in, but apparently not. The first night I showered, my feet were black from all the dirt left on the floors. I'm really sad that Mousekeeping treats the new flooring as being one less thing to clean :(

The building was nice and quiet and the resort grounds are lovely. Enjoyed the boat ride over to Disney Springs.

I hope you let the resort manager and guest services know about the dirty floors. I always wondered if housekeeping would actually scrub them each time?
Please let the above know about this mess.

Thanks for the info! This makes me not want to try it, lol. A lot of people just look at the resorts as a place to sleep. Our resort stay is very important to us, even if we spend most our time in the parks!!

I have stayed at almost all Disney resorts ( AKL cl fav ) and I never missed the deluxes whenever we stayed mod or value .. for us each trip was it’s own and enjoyed them .. I love FQ out of all the mods though . I actually booked it for next week and got a little magical moment and upgraded to poly ( well was given the choice to move or stay ) it’s our anniversary and got engaged at poly so took the upgrade . This will be our last on site stay so good way to go out .
I would not hesitate to stay FQ though :) lovely resort .
