POFQ - Warning

In May I had the pleasure of staying at the POFQ for the first time. I enjoyed everything about my stay there and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in a moderate.

However, for those who have their heart set on staying here, heed this warning:

Confirm your reservation - a couple of times if necessary.

When I arrived at the hotel to check in, I was informed that they did not have a reservation in my name. After a bit of checking they finally found it - attached to the POR. Luckily, they were able to accomadate me and moved my reservation.

Needless to say that when I booked it I specifically requested POFQ and even confirmed by phone a few days later. I never did receive a written confirmation.

The front desk staff were helpful and did state that this happens from time to time.

I would hate to see someone arrive at the POFQ with great anticipation and find out there reservation is at the POR. For all the front desk staff will do there best occupancy rates may not always allow them to move the reservation.

Confirm, confirm, confirm.

I was told that due to similar names and that the reservation program utilizes a drop down box, it makes selecting the wrong resort quite easy.

Disclaimer - Nothing negative towards to POR, I was just looking forward to the POFQ

You can also check your reservation online by going to disneyworld.com and clicking "my vacation." Enter your confirmation number and you should see your reservation.

I did - wasn't sure if you were asking me or the post before me.

I always make them FAX me a confirmation right at the time of booking... it came in handy one time when they quoted me a great rate when I booked but when the paper confirmation came 10 days later, the price was 100.00 more per night then what I was quoted.

I called and spoke to reservations and eventually the supervisor who said "Sorry but if you don't have a confirmation saying the lower rate, I can't help you"

I had the pleasure of saying

"Well actually, I do have one where should I fax it? "



It was AKL concierge and I got it for like 240.00 a night when it was 350.00

I think the similar name issue was in reference to Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside (mentioned drop down box so I'm sure it's easy to click on the wrong one).

We did not experience this when we were there in March, but faxed a letter ahead of time. My parents did not either and they did not fax a letter. Everything was taken care of by AAA and my confirmation from them showed the resort name.
