Where to stay - POFQ vs POR? We'll be going over President's Day weekend - my family (me, DH, DD4 and DD9 months at time of travel) and my mom and sister and will have 2 rooms. I like the look and pool better at POR, not to mention the possibility of a trundle bed in AB. But I like the size of POFQ better. Does the bus still pick up first at POFQ? That also appeals - a better chance at a seat every time....Do all AB rooms at POR have the trundle bed?
Where would you stay?
Thanks!

Personally we prefer POR. Seems much quieter. POFQ is too compact for us. The playground at POR is fantastic. I bet your DD would love it. Our DS was bored at the one at POFQ. POR has surrey bike rentals, fishing hole, and a sit down restaurant.

As far as the trundle every AB room we have stayed in has one. We usually stay in the back of resort. Far from the lobby and main building but close to the bus stop. You have several quiet pools at POR as well. I can't remember if POFQ does or not.

If you like a compact resort then go with POFQ. If you like to be farther from the action and have a quiet atmosphere then go with POR.

As a family of 4 you will not be guaranteed a room in AB section. The pool might be better at POR, but the 4 yo might be better off at the one at POFQ as the slide is great for kids that age. The good thing about the PO resort is they are sister resorts, so you can use the pool at POR if you stay at POFQ.

The bus does stop at POFQ first and POFQ also has its own bus stop at MK first. You will also be dropped off first coming back from the parks.

I like the size of POFQ, after walking all day in the parks I'm not interested in walking a bunch more at the resort. POFQ was very quiet and we loved the courtyards for the kids to run around on.

The small size of FQ is a big advantage - one bus stop, ez walks to bus, lobby, pool, laundry, restaurant/cafeteria. The walks at R can be pretty long compared to almost nothing at FQ.

Plus in am and pm, busses go direct from the one stop at FQ to the parks - at R you may have to ride around the resort for 10 minutes before getting dropped at your stop.

So is it not necessary to request a certain location or building at FQ?

We will be staying there in Feb/March, and I didn't know if I should just leave it up to chance or ask for a certain location..we booked a standard room.

Not really, but you certainly can. I usually request building 3 view of the fountain. It's such a beautiful and quiet resort you'll be glad you stayed there. I've stayed in a water view room before, but didn't really think it was worth it. Give me the view of the fountain and I'm happy.

think disney was changing their policy - now the preferred rooms are the ones closes to the food court - not the water.

With it being a quick trip, a crowded time, 2 little kids and a double stroller and my mom and sis who haven't been in a dozen years and have never stayed on property and dealt with the buses, I think we'll go with FQ. I can always zip over to POR to go to their pool. Plus we are DVCers so I guess we can go over there whenever we want....
Thanks for the input.

Being able to share facilities is a major plus with these two resorts and also means it isn't the end of the world if you pick one and think you might have been better to pick the other. You are free to enjoy both.

Have a great trip!
