We have stayed at both.
Previously, we were big fans of Coronado Springs. We stayed there for our first and second Christmas trip and recommended it for our family friend's wedding.
Coronado Springs is big - especially compared to POFQ. If you are in one of the back buildings, you could be at least a 10 minute walk from the lobby/restaurants.
The scenery at Coronado Springs is amazing. The resort wraps around a lake, with bridges connecting each side. I used to love the bridges at night - they were decorated with white lights which added to the Christmas feeling.
I also liked that CS had a gym. CS was a lot like a deluxe resort at a moderate price.
After a few years, CS got a little "old" for us. After walking in the parks all day, walking back and forth to the rooms was a bit tedious. Also, the quality started to lack a little IMO. The maid service was not as good and the QS restaurant there changed. Maybe we were nitpicking and becoming bored after staying there so many years - that could definitely be it.
After three straight years, we changed to POFQ. Personally, I LOVE POFQ. No matter where your room is, you're less than 5 minutes from the lobby and restaurant. POFQ lacks the amenities that CS has, but it's a really cool, well-themed resort.
Personally, I love the fact that you could jump on a boat and head to DTD. I also love that there's only one bus stop. CS has multiple bus stops. If you're the last stop, many times the buses will be packed by the time it gets to you. This could lead to prolonged wait times to get to the park. At POFQ, we have always gotten on the first bus. Also, when it's late at night after hours at the park, it was nice to know that we only had one stop and a short walk to our room. That was reassuring to our tired legs.
Overall, I'd recommend POFQ if getting to the parks and ease of getting around is important to you. If you're more into amenities and walking long distances doesn't matter to you, then go with CS.
