POFQ to MK

We are staying at POFQ next month. We will have a car. We have an ADR at 8:00 for CP. What do you suggest in terms of transportation. Should we take ME or our rental car? Also, what time should we leave?

I'm assuming you'll be having breakfast, right? Rather than dinner. So, I would take the bus. There are buses that start very early for those character meals...so if you have an ADR at 8:00, you'll want to be out at the bus stop by 6:45 or so. The buses don't run quite as often as they do during regular hours, so if you just miss one, you may have to wait up to 30 mins for the next one.
The nice thing is that when you get to MK, at that early hour, you'll find a pretty empty Main St and some nice photo ops.
If you choose to drive your car (and it will be quicker to drive) you may have an issue getting from the TTC to MK. I've heard many stories from people who were not allowed to get to MK from the TTC. The park doesn't open until 9:00, so they don't start the ferry and monorail until around 8:15ish. Even if it's an EMH morning, they don't start because they assume the resort guests will be taking the buses. So, don't take the chance. I would just take the bus and have a nice time on Main St. early without the hordes of people.

We have stayed at POFQ many times with a rental car, and we've gone for the early breakfast at CP. We have always taken the resort bus. As stated above, they run early to the MK, but not as frequently. I would be at the bus stop between 7:00 and 7:10. If you arrive early, you can take great pics without the crowds!

To avoid confusion, please allow me to point out that you're using one term incorrectly. "ME" or "DME" stands for "Disney's Magical Express," which is motorcoach transportation between Orlando International Airport and your Disney resort.

The service that brings you between your resort and the WDW parks is called Disney Transport. You can call it simply "the bus" and everyone will know what you mean.

Thanks everyone! I am *not* going to tell DH that we have to be up and out of the hotel that early though! I'll save it for bedtime when I'm setting the alarm.

Hello dreagirl-

Just my 2 cents worth.
You could always take your car to the Poly and use the valet parking ($10 unless you have Disney Dining Card then its free), get on the Monorail and take it to the MK it will only be like 5 mins. This way when you are done you can have the valet get your car and save you the trouble of having to fight the crowds on the trams and MK monorail. I have done this for the last couple of years and it saves soooo much time and energy at the end of a long day.

Forgot to give you directions: When you leave the POFQ go north on Bonnet Creek Road for about 1/4 mile to the stop light. Turn left onto Vista Blvd for about 2 to 3 miles you will pass Eagle Pines golf course and Wilderness Lodge Campground you will turn right (the only way you can turn) onto N. World Drive (you will be just North of the main entrance gate) go about 1 mile to W. Seven Seas Drive turn left at the light (it will be the first light you come to) go about 1/4 mile just past the TTC and you will see the signs for the Poly turn right and stay on the right side of the guard shack. Tell the guard you are there for breakfast and shopping proceed forward to the valet parking and they will get you taken care of.
