Let me say was AWESOME!! Coronado has always been my favorite moderate but I don't know this gives it a serious run for its money. Honestly I don't think I can choose.

We paid for a STD room but got a water view. We were in Bldg 1 and faced the courtyard and bldg 2 was across from us and to the right was the river to DTD. We were on (and sorry but I know I will slaughter the spelling) Ponchatrain Way. We were on the second floor.

It was so peaceful and so quiet I loved it. I was able to hear some toilets flush and such but honestly that doesn't bother me. We had a fun day at the pool and even though we were the farthest bldg away from the main food court in the S Qtr we had such a peaceful walk.

The only thing that caught me off guard was the small foodcourt. Not bad but it just didn't have the selection in the refridgerated type section. You know jell-o and fruit cups, subs and such.

The beignets were great and holy cow those ice cream cookie sandwiches. Didn't have one but they were huge.

All in all it was a gorgous stay and I would love to stay again.

YAY!!! :cheer2: Glad you enjoyed your stay at my favorite moderate resort.. POFQ!! :cheer2: I LOVE POFQ!! That's wonderful that they gave you an upgrade! That was a nice surprise! :)

Thanks for the great review!! So is POFQ now your #1 favorite now? :jester:

Glad you had a great stay. We stayed there the 1st week of September with the family and we all had a great time. We were in Bldg 3 2nd floor. This was our first time there and we are going back in February for our Anniv. just us. I am so looking forward to returning to this great place. :flower:

Sound great! This is where we're hoping to stay next May once I get an okay from my DH!

Glad you enjoyed your stay! If I can't swing the Poly next year I will be going back to POFQ I suppose. I haven't been there since 2001 and would like to check out the rooms since they were redone. I had a great time there also! Very peaceful and the landscaping was wonderful. :)

We stayed there the last week of September. It was beautiful. We paid for standard view and got a courtyard view. We were in building 4, which was very close to the bus stop and the food court. We too could occasionally hear a toilet flushing, but it was not often enough to be an issue for us. I think that the next time we go, we will definitely stay here. We also liked that we could walk down to Riverside if we wanted.

I'm with Fantasia... it's my favorite resort too!!! :cheer2: We Michiganders think alike!!! :grouphug:

I LOVED the POFQ last time we were there (2001). We are going to try the CSR this time. If it wasn't that I have heard how great the pool and slide is at the CSR, We would go back to the POFQ in a second! DS8, liked the Dragon slide there, but that was 4 years ago. He would think it's lame at 8!
We were in building #5 facing the pool, and yes So quiet! And lets not forget the boat on the river, How nice! Time goes too fast! Wow, all that in one breath!...LOL

Did you eat breakfast in the food court? How was that? Was it very crowded?

So glad to hear you liked both POFQ and CSR. We are doing a split stay at both of them Dec 9th-18th and can't wait. I was thinking about asking for a courtyard view in building 5 at POFQ. Does anyone know how long it would take to get to the food court and bus stop from there? Also do all the buildings have elevators? My mom will be in an ECV, but I really prefer being on a top floor if possible. Thanks!

we just came back a few days ago from our first trip to POFQ, we too were in building 1, booked standard view, got water view, room 1225, ALMOST a corner room. I liked all the little lizards about and tree frogs at night sitting on the walls and lamps. :)

As you can see from our trips to WDW...POFQ is our Favorite. I love the small size of the resort. I do wish they had a little more selection in their food court. We really don't eat there much anyway though. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.

This is awsome. I'm loving hearing these reports. We leave Tues. 10/18 for 7 nights. Neither of us have stayed at POFQ before, just picked it on the advise of the travel agent. I've never been to WDW before (boyfriend has been several times with his kids), but from reading these reports and many others like it, I can just see it in my mind and can't keep my mind on my work (yes, I'm at work now)....Still having a hard time picturing WDW. It just seems so huge.

how was bus tranportation to and from Magic Kingdom, Epcot and MGM?

We only ate breakfast there 2 times. One time we took it back to our room and ate there. The other time was check-out day on a Saturday and it was full, not wall to wall but full.

They have huge Mickey waffles which I ate and hubby got the croiscent (sorry have head cold, spelling and me don't agree today) thing like a burger king one only much better. Kids got pancakes. It was good plus we got to use our DDE discount.

Bus Transportation was fine. The only thing that got to me is 9 out of 10 they stopped at Riverside first and it had to be West, North, East, South then us. Other than that it was fine. Busses were timely and we never really had to wait a long time. Maybe 20 minutes in the middle of the afternoon one day.

KilleriMac - We were practically neighbors, we got back after staying the first week in October and had room 1234.

What?! I'd always read that the buses pick up at POFQ first. That was one of the reasons for us booking our trip there in January. Have they changed the bus service?

Well it seemed we were picked up first but dropped off last. The busses were pretty empty if not empty when we got on but most of the time when coming home from a park, Riverside got dropped off first.

Whew! Thanks for clarifying ... I don't mind being dropped off last, but gotta make sure we get a seat on that bus in the A.M.
