POFQ room location

Is it necessary to request a room at POFQ? My parents are joining me in Disney for 5 days in May. Mom has had some work done on her knees, so we try to limit how much walking she does when she is not in the parks. Are all the rooms fairly close to the main building? Or would you suggest a certain section? Thanks!

From what I understand this resort is pretty compact so it's probably a good choice for your mom. I would call and tell the CM what your concerns are and request a room close to the main building, bus stop and near an elevator if it's not on the ground floor. There's a map around someplace.... check on the dis site. We will be staying here the first time in April b/c of the resort's small size and I'll be with my two dd's alone.

We stayed in bldg #5 last time, and requested it this time. It depends on where you want to be closer to, the bus stop or the river... And keep in mind that some bldg's allow smoking, we avoid those.

This is my favorite resort- you really can't go wrong with a building, but feel free to tell them when you book you have someone with a handicap, they will be happy to assist you.

Going back to the topic, from what I gathered, everyone seems to recommend Building #5 so that's what I requested for our trip in March.

I have stayed in Building 4 at the POFQ, and it is a great location. It's just a minute from the food court, a minute or two to the bus, and a few minutes to the pool and the boat dock. It's very convienent.

Thank you! Yes, we are very excited about our long trip. We haven't had a true vacation since our LAST WDW trip in March 2003! So we're making up for it with (almost) 2 weeks in the WORLD!!!
