1. Is there a hair dryer in the room?

2. Does the resort sell milk? What kind (we drink 2%)? Do they have 1/2 gallons?

3. Are there elevators? We want to stay on the third level, but will have a stroller.

4. What is the best building to request? We want it to be quiet (not next to the pool), but would like to be close to the bus stop and food court.

Any other helpful information will be apprectiated. We will be there September 12-17.

Thanks!

Hi there- we're in POFQ right now and love it. Here are answers to your questions:
1) yes there is a hair dryer in the room- standard issue blow dryer (don't expect a lot of settings has high & low)

2) Yes there's milk. To be honest I haven't noticed if the gift shop sells 1/2 gallons. If I get a chance I look.

3) Yes there are elevators- 1 per building I believe.

4) The entire resort is really compact and all quiet. We haven't had an issue with noise at all (currently on day 5 of 10). We are in Building 1 and technically it is the furthest from the lobby, buses, and pool HOWEVER it takes less than a 5 minute walk to get to any of those.

Before we got here I was worried about being in this section and was sad when we were told our room number even though we made the request for our preferred area we didn't get the request. Having said that I am still super happy with where we are. Its a great resort.

HTH- and have fun on your vacation!

PS also wanted to mention to make sure you plan your transportation correctly. We have had a lot of "combined" bus routes with POR and that eats up a lot of time. On average it is taking anywhere from 45 mins to an hour to reach the parks because of this combined route.

We were here last July and I don't recall them comboing the routes- not sure if this is a value season thing or not but it can mess up reservation times if you don't plan accordingly.

Yes, they do sell half gallons of milk. The fit nicely in the fridge.

We like building 3, close to the food court, close enough to the bus stop and pool although building 4 is closer.

We didn't really have a problem with buses last November or the May before that. POFQ was always picked up and dropped off first when sharing with POR, the only time we shared with POR when we stayed at POFQ was during the afternoon. There didn't seem to be a pattern to it at all (or maybe I just wasn't paying attention), just seemed kind of hit or miss sharing the bus.

Loving all the info about POFQ, keep the info coming as we will be there May 2011.

Just back from 8 days and didn't share buses at all on the way to the parks. Some on the way home at night, but we were the first stop so it didn't matter. Maybe it has to do with the time of day you go. We headed out for park openings for the most part, then back to the hotel for the heat of the day, then back to a park in the evening.

Hairdryer is fine...not worth packing your own.

If you are going for the third floor because you think it will be quiet, we were on the first floor and never heard a thing! I think getting to the elevator and then to your room may add a bit onto your walk. I loved being on the first floor. We were in 5128 and 5129 and they were perfect.

If it is crowded when you are there, remember you can take your food from the food court into the Scat Cat club to eat if the club is not open.

Thanks for all the replies.
I just did online check in and I was able to request ground floor (decided it would be better having a stroller and all) and close to transportation. Is that good enough, or should I call and request a certain building? What number do I call to make such request?

Has anybody ever made a request for what type or room you didn't want? There are two types of rooms we do not want.
1. next to the pool
2. second floor
Other than that we don't care. When we check and they have given us one of those rooms we don't want, what are the chances we could be moved to different room?

We will be arriving at POFQ later this month and I was also wondering about the milk. I am trying to decide how much, if any, breakfast foods to bring down with us.

Does anyone know about how much the 1/2 gallon costs? And, whether or not they also sell larger cartons of orange juice (and cost, if they do)?

Since you are packing breakfast foods, sounds like you are driving down. May be better to buy the milk boxes (like a juice box). They keep without refrigeration.

We've stayed at POFQ twice; December 2009 and a couple weeks ago. At rope drop the busses never stopped at POR and MK busses never went to POR. Coming back from the parks there's no way to know if the bus went to POR or not since we got off before then meaning it really didn't matter. Mid-day the busses other than MK busses did seem to always go to POR before heading to the parks.
