My deposit is due tommorrow and I still can't decide, we have a free night at the Dolphin and will be going to Disney Quest, so I thought POFQ would be perfect but the posts have been pretty negative lately, dirty, not well staffed and ASmovies is $30 less per night, any opinions and thoughts would be welcome. We have 2 adults and children, DS8 and DD4. Thanks!

You might want to do a search. POFQ has only been opened since the 31st of May. I have read some good posts regarding the food court area, its cleanliness, selection, etc. I did read that the rooms were not rennovated while it was closed but that would mean they are in the same condition as when it closed. We were there before it closed and it wasn't that bad, if my memory serves me right.

What we like about POFQ is that there are fewer people there. AS has tons of rooms which translates to a lot of people. FQ just doesn't seem as busy and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. Perhaps some others who have just returned may be able to help you. For me, it would definitely be the PoFQ...we just didn't care for AS but there are lots of people who love the AS. A matter of personal preference, perhaps.

Either place is still Disney.

You just named two of our favourite resorts ! We loved FQ because of the close proximtiy of all of the buildings to everything. My deciding factor, number one is cost, and how I could spend the savings at character meals, etc. The other one is, how much do your kids love waterslides. Mine are still little enough that they don't care either way. If yours really love to do the slide thing (albeit it's a very small, tame slide), then I would go for FQ. Movies is definitely more "disney themed" which is a wonderful site to witness when your child see's Andy's room courtyard for the first time ! Which ever you choose, you can't go wrong.

Ive stayed at both and ASM is cool, but French Quarter is a great moderate resort. Its small, quiet, very charming, and the boat ride to downtown disney is great, espaecially as the sun is going down. If I had a choice, I would def. pick POFQ

ALL STAR MOVIES HAS MY VOTE. WE STAYED THERE LAST SEPTEMBER AND ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. LAST TIME WE WENT WE STAYED AT THE DISNEY INSTITUTE. ALL STAR MOVIES HAS MY VOTE, ECSPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN!

If you have kids, they might really enjoy the slide at POFQ. We stayed there last summer and my kids loved it.

I wouldn't stay at POR/FRQTR again. Esp for the $ diff, I would go with ASMo. But were there in January, during the *quiet* season. So I think the time of year of your stay would make a diifference too and how much you are in your room.

Whoops! See you posted back on the 10th. What did you go with? :D
