POFQ or another Mod?

We are booked at POFQ for Oct., but, after reading so many bad reviews about the bus service being slooow - I'm wondering if we should switch to another mod. Would love feedback on what you think?

It all depends on what you like and what is important to YOU. If you stay a week at Disney and use the busses everyday, you will have a slow bus sometime during your stay. I have not stayed at any other mod. resort, except POR. The other resorts are very large and have 5 or more bus stops themselves. POFQ shares with POR. Usually what happens is POFQ gets picked up first and then goes over to POR. This does not happen all of the time though. Sometimes it picks up at POFQ and goes straight to the park. You will have delays at park closing however, but I think all of the resorts do. What occurred with us at EPCOT is the busses were doubling up picking up for Port Orleans, so it ended up being not so bad. What the busses do at the parks, especially when it is busy at closing is, the busses get into line, then stop before getting to the resort area, and a transportation manager tells the driver which resort to pick up, and then the driver changes his sign and picks up that resort. PO is near the end near where the busses stop and you can actually see the busses do this. It's not that bad, you just need to leave a little early and be prepared for a delay. The longest delay we had was when two people on "Jazzy" carts got on a one of the stops. Then the driver has to stop and get the people locked on the bus. This took a little time. But also at POFQ you are the last stop on the water taxi going to DTD. That is a plus that the other mods and values do not have.

As far as bus service goes in the moderates, it really doesn't get much better than POFQ. We stayed there in April and did not make the loop through riverside once. Maybe this is not the case in the slow season. I noticed you were paying for a river view in your countdown. I seriously wouldn't bother paying the extra money for the view....if anything you might want to be as close to the parking lot as possible after a long day. You can't see anything out of your room anyway.

All of the mods have multiple stops.

At least with POFQ you know you will be on the first stop and will most likely get a seat.

CSR has 4 stops.

PO has 5 stops. First stop POFQ then 4 stops at POR.
(Note: sometimes the POFQ bus goes directly to the parks and does not pick up at the POR stops.)

CBR has 7 stops.

Although I haven't stayed at a ton of different resorts, every time we've gone we've had a great stay.

I love love love POFQ. This is my favorite moderate resort.

The grounds are beautiful, everything is a close walk to everything else, the CMs here are wonderful, Mousekeeping does a great job and the bus service is really outstanding.

Honestly, this is my favorite moderate and I have stayed here more than anywhere else - I will go back again and again.

Port Orleans French Quarter is my favorite moderate at WDW and is a must stay for me. I have always had great service here. I love the fact that it's small & compact, so it's easy to get everywhere here. It does share it's buses with POR, but ALWAYS picks up & drops off at POFQ first. The pool is great and I love the grounds.

Have tried Riverside & Caribbean Beach and won't stay at either again. Some of the worst experiences at these resorts.
