I'm watching Cake Boss, something I never watch, they were making a castle cake for his daughter. They managed to get Disney to give them a kitchen. So they walk up to the hotel and it's POFQ. But my favorite is how he's pronouncing Disney, Disiney. :rotfl:

I am watching it too. I have seen this one before but hey it is Disney related! I love his daughter just walking up to the Princesses. I wish we could do that!

I had to laugh about the guy who couldn't find Yacht Club. I've never driven at Disney (or should I say "Disiney" ;)), but I've seen how well signed everything is, and it just seems to me you'd really have to try to get lost.

:thumbsup2 My MIL and BIL saw him at the F&W festival. I do not know if it was on our Oct/Nov trip last year. Is that the episode where he makes all the cannoli (sp?)? My Mississippi pronunciation is "Dizzzzzney". :cutie:

DH and I were cracking up at that as well... We kept repeating it. Diz-ii-nee

Great episode, but I couldn't even begin to imagine what his little girl's birthday party cost. How do you begin to top that? Was that a special area at GF or one of the restaurant patios?

My family was there during that filming last year, it was during Jersey Week (of course, right? LOL) My niece and I actually saw them filming the part where they were walking down Main St. I was dumb enough to yell out, "Hey fellow New Jersian!" LMAO We were told to shut up basically, that they were filming. Oopsy! LOL

The weird thing is that we saw them outside of the castle in the Rose Garden with a giant castle cake with tons of people having a party after Wishes. But on the show they're outside at the GF.

And the parks were no way near as empty as it seemed when watching that episode! LOL

I saw this last night.. but didn't see POFQ anywhere...???

I saw them at the BC kitchen, and outside the GF for the party - and in the parks..

He isn't the only one that says it that way...my DD also does. She is about to turn 7 and has always said it that way...and we live in Ohio, not NJ!

Yes that is the same episode; they were actually there to take part in the Food & Wine Fest. I must say, they make the BEST cannoli in Jersey;) I grew not far from their bakery, it's kind of funny to see it on "reality tv" now. LONG before he was The Cake Boss, they did my wedding cake and all the pastries that were at my wedding (I think he was just a little boy at that time :lmao:)

Well how cool is that?? :cool1:

I saw him last Nov (Jersey Week) walking with a tour guide through the Magic Kingdom. We didn't recognize him at first with street clothes on and not his baking attire :lmao:. I wish I had known he was cooking while he was there I would have tried lurking around POFQ ;)

You see those cakes on TV and I often wonder how much they cost? Anyone know how much an average wedding cake from them would set you back?

It's when they said Disney gave them a kitchen to use for him to make the cake for his daughter. I kept thinking, so why did Disney do this? How do they tell other's sorry can't do that because you don't have your own TV show? Seems like discrimination to me. I also thought he was a bit abusive to the chef when he called and asked for the fondant. I could see Disney letting him using the kitchen, but he should have brought his own stuff. I did grow tired of all the complaining.

I was confused watching it about the POFQ and then YC. To me I assumed that they stayed at POFQ (though would have thought deluxe),and it was them showing the two guys leaving POFQ - and then next showed them at YC baking?
My girls LOVE that show! So much so, we went up to the bakery to visit and buy a little cake! We're just over an hour away. Saw Buddy for a brief second before he dashed back upstairs - they said they were filming him making a cake for the governor's inauguration.

My MIL's mom lives a town over, and MIL was visiting her mom the day before my daughter's birthday.... so guess where my daughter's birthday cake came from! She was thrilled. And no, nothing over the top - I don't have that kind of money, but nonetheless it was a VERY pretty and tasty cake!

Good question. I've wondered that as well. I'd bet some of the cakes they do can cost as much as $10,000.

We met Buddy about a month ago and he is such an awesome down to earth guy.he said his wedding cakes are priced at $20.00 per slice...So if you have 1000 guests...do the math!!! :) Do you guys remember the cake he did for his neice's rollerskating party? A tie dyed cake? He said it would have cost a customer between 800 - 1000 for that cake...

Remember that monster Sesame Street cake? I want to know how much that cost. It was literally a replica of the Sesame Street set, complete with characters.

He indicated that several cakes he did were of charitable nature.....seasame street wasn't mentioned but remember the firework cake? 20,000 bucks!!!!

Considering his location (Hoboken, NJ, which is just across the river from NYC) that doesn't see all that expensive belive it or not. I'm sure the same cake on the other side of the Hudson would be at least twice the price...crazy yes but that's the way things are in and around NYC.
