I have tried many times to check POFQ on the passholder website and it never comes up. I thought they all came up, but would possibly show a rate that was not discounted if none available. Also, I tried the Boardwalk and a water view room never shows. Can you not book whatever room type you want? Also, how do you go to the Disney website and ask for AAA rates?

BC - I think they took away the AP Best Rate Plan site showing any rooms/rates other than the AP BR plan. I think a lot of people found it confusing, and since the understanding was that even if you reserved a rack room rate under the AP site, it would not automatically convert you to an AP rate if one became available, they took it away. The site probably hasn't been showing rack rate rooms for several weeks now - you're only able to see what rooms are actually available now under the AP rate plan.

If you want to book whatever room you want (regardless of discount), you will need to go through the regular Disney booking engine, or call CRO. If you have AAA, the last I checked, you could only get room quotes from CRO - the regular WDW online booking engine doesn't have a spot to enter that information. HTH!

Then if an AP rate becomes available, since you didn't book it thru the webpage, you just are out of luck??? I guess I am among the confused...will they give you a lower rate if one comes out if you book thru CRO? I guess it will be like always before, if you find out there is a lower rate and call, they will change it if there is a room available?

This program is new, so I don't think a lot of people really know how things are going to play out until October when people who first booked under the program return from their trips.

My rudimentary knowledge - rumor is that AP rates will likely still be available through the old "call in" system. However, they're not guaranteed (never have been), and those rooms are based on availability, too. Rumor is also that if they do release AP rates like they have in the past, they might be about 5% higher than those rates folks who booked under the Best Rate plan got online (but wouldn't have the same penalty/cancellation policy).

My recommendation - I would book at a resort and a rate that you feel comfortable paying now, whether that's AAA, AP Best Rate, rack, whatever. You can keep checking the AP site to see if the resort and room type you want should come available (I have seen things come and go), and/or you can see if the same should be available if AP call in rates come about.

It's really a bit of "rolling the dice" so to speak right now. I know how frustrating it can be when the hotel and room you really want isn't available at first. Have you considered doing a split stay? Sometimes changing your dates, and/or changing the # of nights, will produce a different result.

Good luck! :wizard:

We had a similar problem. Wanted WL or POFQ for our December trip but neither are coming up on the Best Rate website. I finally called CRO and inquired about AAA discounts for those two resorts, and no luck there either. So, I booked POFQ at rack rate (which kills me!). However, I am keeping my eyes open and if something better comes up, I will just cancel that reservation and rebook.

I would suggest finding a room and price you can live with now. If you find a room on the best rate site, be advised though that if you cancel it later there is a penalty. If POFQ opens up on the best rate, i will grab that, if not, hopefully the regular AP rates will be available for that time (highly doubt it though).

What dates are you guys talking about POFQ not being available? I'm doing a split stay Dec 9th-18th at POFQ and CSR. I'm spending the first five nights at POFQ in a standard view room. When I first checked on the Passholder's site, I entered POFQ for the first four nights and it was unavailable, but was available for the full 9 nights. I then started playing around with the number of nights and got it for the first five nights. A water view room came up at first, but when I checked standard room, it came up also. I double checked to make sure it was under the Passholder's Best Rate Program and it still was. You guys scared me, so I just went and rechecked the confirmation they e-mailed me. Both confirmations (POFQ and CSR) say standard view room, Passholder Best Rate Program and have a price of $94.00/night (before tax). Totals are $524.05 for five nights at POFQ and $419.24 for four nights at CSR. I booked these on 07-26-05.

I have been trying December 9-11 (two nights). I have not been able to get either. I have been checking every other day with no luck. I have even tried just one night at a time, but still nothing. I'll keep looking, but I have a feeling it maybe hard to get since it is a weekend.

Puffkin, I just checked on the web site and you can get a 5 night stay at POFQ beginning 12/9 but nothing for fewer nights.

Disney seems to be making more and more minimum stay requirements associated w/this best rate program.

Thanks for the info. We are DVC members, so we only need POFQ for the first two nights before we switch over to SSR for 6 nights. As much as I would love to stay 5 nights POFQ, 6 nights SSR.....it isn't in the cards. Hopefully they will release some AP rates the old fashioned way, even if they aren't quite as good.

I can get CBR or Coronado for just the two nights, but I really want to try a new resort (stayed at CBR in July) and Coronado has zero appeal for me (at least for a Christmas trip).

I'm not having fun playing the waiting game for prices to come out. This year for christmas, a friend is coming down from pensylvania and so we have to plan around her dates being here. Usually we're very flexible and do spur of the moments since we live in south florida.
And it's tough waiting for late october prices since we want to do the halloween party. I don't want to be left out. I've never been able to do either party so I want to make sure everything is booked for the best possible price.

Now back in July, when we wanted to stay at the campgrounds, I couldn't find anything for our dates. Which weren't flexible since they some how managed to let Kari have 3 days off in a row. But I could've been able to book 3 nights at french quarters for 99$ a night, king bed for fl resident/passholder discount. But no discounts were available for valued resort which were in the 90$ range. Funny how some things work. We still ended up paying 70$ a night for a preferred site in the pet loop at the campground. Stayed one night there and the second night off property.
