i have never done laundry at a resort before but im thinking this may be the year.
i was looking at the resort map and it seems the laundry is close to the pool? is it likely i could do laundry while relaxing at the pool? and how likely is it machines would be open? do they have plenty machines?

Laundry facilities usually are in the vicinity of the quiet pools. Not sure about the main pool.

I haven't visited POR or POFQ yet, but based on CSR (another moderate) and Pop Century (value), there probably will be 10 to 12 washers and dryers in each laundry room.

The cost (as of December 2007) is $2 per load for the washer and $2 per 30 minutes of drying time. It's usually adequate for everything except jeans or other heavy clothing. Check the dryer temperature control before starting it--most people set it on the hottest setting--and it's HOT! *LOL*

Personal experience is that the laundry rooms tend to be overflowing with grumpy guests shortly after park closing. Everyone seems to have the same idea and thinks there's something wrong because they aren't the only ones there! :confused3

You can lounge around the pool while doing your laundry. WDW makes it quite convenient! :)

POFQ only has one pool, and yes the laundry is very close to it! I did laundry there a couple of times when we stayed at that resort.

At most of the other mods, the laundry is near the quiet pools. At the values, they have a laundry room at the main and quiet pool.

There are plenty of units to use. What we do is put a load in before we get ready for dinner, put in in the dryer just before we leave for dinner, and take it out when we get back from dinner. Works well for us. It hardly feels like we are spending any time doing it.

I did laundry during the day at the POR quiet pool and it was great. I was able to enjoy the pool while doing laundry. I suggest getting single load boxes of powder detergent before hand (go to you local laundry mat) and pack the dryer sheets in a plastic zip lock bag with them. I also brought laundry bags with me (cheap ones from discount store).

you dont mind leaving it? that makes me nervous, if someone took it, id have nothing:scared:

The laundry at POFQ is right at the pool area. I've done mine while at the pool. It was not a problem getting a washer/dryer. I don't think that any people actually do laundry on vacation :confused3 Just bring a lot of quarters. The dryers take a while to dry.

thanks everyone!! i check that off as another thing i dont have to worry about:)
