POFQ,dining,Package and some other questions

1st, just let me say TIA;-)

Is there someplace online where you can check availability for on-property hotels at a glance? I'm trying to book POFQ for 7 nites and our time frame is pretty open (end January through March...we just want the best possible price and low crowds). It's a little frustrating waiting for everything to load and then seeing no availability;-/ i was hoping to find a site that just shows basic availability so I can at least get an idea for dates.
Also now that the dining plan has nixed both tip and appetizers is it still such a great deal?
Finally package or air,tickets and room all booked separately? Disney's site quotes me about 3200 for POFQ,park hopper,dining and air,Dreams Unlimited comes in at 3900 (no air) and I'm still awaiting a quote from AAA. Air BTW is out of PHX.
Not certain if this is the absolute correct place to post but figured you guys could at least point me in the right direction.

we are doing the fq, and this year we have nixed the dining plan. Lower crowds in the coldest month. January.
