My hubby likes to eat at the hotel in the mornings a few mornings during our stay. We stayed at POR last August and the food court was PACKED in the morning. It was insane! We had to wait with our food and 3 kids just to get a table each day. So I hear POFQ is so much quieter and not as crazy so we are thinking of taking a stroll to POFQ some mornings for breakfast.....

Is this a good idea? Is POFQ just as insane? How is the food? Same offerings as POR? I figure for breakfast they all have close to the same food ????

POFQ food court is much smaller. It can get busy but to me doesn't seem as intense and stressful as POR. It depends what time you intend to breakfast and what day. Weekends are worse and it gets busy around 9 am onwards in my experience. Food choice is similar to POR but physically the space is smaller. I prefer POFQ for a less crazy experience, we often walk to POR for dinner or lunch for a change so I've experienced they queuing for a table whilst your food gets cold experience.

Pretty much the same in the mornings, crazy busy~
Mostly the same foods, except POFQ has beignets which are worth breakfast at POFQ alone. (They have them all day, not just for breakfast.) If you have a more leisurely morning, I'd say it's worth a walk, just for a change and the beignets. You can always take your food outside the foodcourt, or there are some outdoor tables with umbrellas by the pool which is a very short walk away. It's actually really nice and peaceful there that time of day by the POFQ pool. Then you can take a bus wherever you want to go from there. Not sure it's worth going every morning though, give it a try and see how you like it!

This is one of my most significant concerns about staying at a mod again in April (but it's the week after Easter, not value season, so . . .) We're not fans of food courts and have generally avoided CS lately, but we'll need to grab breakfast from the POFQ food court a few times before EMH rope drop - think 6:30am should be OK?

Yes, that's plenty early for it not to be really busy! I think the peak times are around 8-10 am when most families are getting ready to go to parks but don't go super early. So many people, especially on vacation, just can't (or won't) do that early. You should be fine, and most mods have tables outside of the foodcourt closeby to get out of the foodcourt if it's just too busy.

Minnie Beth is absolutely right. The early bird catches the worm.....or the empty table. If you want to avoid the crowds at either resort you just have to get up early. Or eat outside, which is something we love to do when the weather is nice. SO much quieter.

minniebeth and minnie mum, thanks so much! Our youngest is up super early anyway (before 6am) so this is great news!

We pretty much avoid the food courts in the mornings, we go there maybe once a trip. We usually do a couple character breakfasts and the rest of the time we have cereal in the room with juice and fruit. Overall I didn't care for the POFQ food court, we took the boat to WPE instead (for lunch or dinner).
