POFQ CLOSING INFO THREADS-UPDATED & CLEANED UP!

Just off the phone to CRO...we've booked the Poly at $30 pn more than the full rack rate we were paying at POFQ... even at that..what a great deal!!! I'm just grateful we know what we're doing now...that all part of the fun... the planning and anticipation isn't it.... Good luck to everyone with their arrangements I hope you all get the resorts you want:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

After over an hour on hold, our only offer for an up-grade was AKL Savanna view for $143.80 a night. We are going May 5-10. Under normal circumstances, we'd be thrilled, but we were just there in Sept. It's our dates that aren't allowing us to get the great deals others are getting. After reading everyone's replies, our hearts were set on the Poly. Our only other choice was CS which we've stayed at and won't return.

The CM was extremely helpful, she tried every code and combination possible. She felt bad that she couldn't get us the Poly. Her only suggestion was to call back next week to see if anything had changed due to cancellations.

The waiting is over and we have a wonderful place to stay. We loved our stay at AKL. I'll quit whinning now.

I was on hold for an hour, but it was worth it. I now have peace of mind. We just got upgraded to POLY!! It was $943 for nine nights at PO and we now have Poly for $1244. I believe that is about $30 per night difference when you take into account tax. We are SOOOO excited. Good luck to everyone else.:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

We got the poly upgrade also! I am sooooo excited. I hope everyone else has good luck too. Called this morning and was on hold over an hour. CM said she was relieved she could finally book these rates, put in the Poly, dates, etc, the whole nine yards and then - NOTHING - it wouldn't let her book it. Talk about a let down. She said she would call me later as soon as it could be booked. We had a girl scout Easter picnic today - I'm a leader-and she called while we were gone. Said she had a room on hold and to call and confirm that we still wanted it. I called right away, of course, and was only on hold about ten minutes this time.
$30 pn more for $124 rate.

There are 12 of us going 5/2-5/8. My mom received a phone call on 4/7 telling her about the closing and said they wouldn't have the new rates until next Monday 4/12. I encouraged her to call today seeing all of you getting upgrades. After 1 hr on hold- and being transferred incorrectly to both the Catalog and credit card center.

They offered us AK and Poly but then said they were all booked. Then she offered us the Fort Wildnerness cabins- yeah right. She couldn't seem to look up if there was availability at Caribbean Beach or not. They only had 3 people working today- and don't seem to be organized at all considering they know they need to take 1000 rooms and put people elsewhere. Then she mentioned what a busy weekend this was- why on earth would they close a resort if it's a busy time. Then she asked if we could change our travel dates. Pretty sure 12 people can't change their plan reservations.

She did say she was going to have the superviser call my sister on Monday to find something.

We just spent 3 1/2 hours on the phone and discussing everything and we are very upset. We really don't want to stay at the All Stars resorts- we have a lot of small children and don't want all of the walking.

We are seriously thinking of staying off the grounds. We've visited Disney about 12 times over the past 30 years and always stay at the resorts and never had any problems until now. We booked back in November and have been planning this vacation for a long time, now 2 1/2 weeks before we're ready to leave we have to go through all of this?

So, ae they only offeing for certain codes right now? My mom had a FL Resident rate . I told her to call today, but she thinks they are closed because they told her to try back Monday. Shoudl she wait or give it a try? What time are they open until?

I really appreciate everyone who has taken the time to share their experiences. I'm glad things seem to be working out for so many of you!

I'd be curious to know what dates everyone is going for. I know some have posted this information, and that's really helpful. We're not going until August, and I hate to bother them now as I'm sure they want to get the earlier folks taken care of first. Of course, I'd also like to have this settled sooner rather than later!

Hello everyone. I almost don't want to say anything to anyone for the fact that some of you still haven't been taken care of and I hate to add to your frustration........

But I just called disney and didn't ask for the special relocation team this time (ext. 222)..... I just told her that I wanted to shorten our stay by 2 days and go to Universal Studios, since Disney had no desire to take care of us......... She immediately put me on hold, told me that she spoke with someone in "outbound travel" and that they would call me back in 15 minutes. Sure enough, she did. We got the AKL for about $160 more for 5 nights. We took it, but still shortened our stay by two nights ;)

Hmmmm, outbound travel, people looking staying away from Disney........... got their attention.....don't know if I just got lucky, or if it makes a difference them knowing you ARE going change your plans............ Good luck to all................... I will be checking in to see how you all make out.............keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.....:p

Outbound travel???Never heard of that department....

Anyhow--thought I'd chime in with my upgrade success story..I got the Beach Club for $124 a night in mid June...it worked out really well for us--so i would say call as soon as possible!

I'm glad to see so many people getting such great rates at the at deluxe hotels. I'm sure everyoen will have a wonderful trips.

As for me, well, my saga continues. Today, I received two confirmations in the mail for my trip--the one with the old ressie number, and the one with my new ressie number. The new one was switched from the Disney Club reservation policy (i.e. having to pay 21 days out) to the WDTC reservation policy (i.e. having to pay 45 days out). Now, money wise, this isn't too big of a concern for me, but I'm a bit annoyed that they switched the reservation like that when the person who made my reservation told me it would be 21 days out.

So, I call Disney this morning, I'm on hold for 40 minutes, and I had to hang up because I had to go out. I call back a few hours later, and I'm on hold for 45 minutes, and then disconnected. I decided to go to church, so I didn't call back until 5:00. So, I'm on hold for an hour and twenty minutes, I finally get a person, give her my ressie number, and she asks me how I booked my ressie. I told her I booked through the Disney Club. She tells me I now have a WDTC reservation, and she can not access it. WDTC was already closed for the day, so there was nothing she could do. I said, "You've got to be kidding me. I've been on hold for over an hour." Let me tell you, my eyes were welling up, and I could barely talk because I was so frustrated. She promised that she would have them call me back tomorrow, and asked when the best time for them to call. I told her in the morning. She promised they would call me in the morning. I won't be holding my breath.

Upgrade or no upgrade, I plan on writing a letter to Disney about my problems I've had with this reservation since I booked my trip. In all my years of booking Disney trips, I've never had the problems I've had with this trip. For those of you who haven't read this entire thread, since I booked this trip on top of the closing of the POFQ, I've had my entire reservation lost, been given a reservation number no one can access, and have had my ressie changed to a WDTC ressie. Planning a vacation shouldn't be this stressful!

Thanks to everyone for your support and for listening to me vent about this mess. Hopefully I'll know something soon so that you all won't have to listen to me ramble anymore.

FYI we're going 12/08-12/28... I was really concerned that although I couldn't see a problem for the start of our holiday the Poly may have been struggling for xmas week and we don't like resort hopping..although the CM we spoke to really tried to sell it to us..not happening... If you're really anxious then call them... keep a pleasant head on, they seem to appreciate this and it may be my imagination, but I found my CM "seemed to try harder" because I was so understanding and empathised with the nightmare she was having trying to relocate everyone...Hope this helps someone else

Good Luck;)

Disney Daft Dad--We have a reservation for 12/6-13/03. Would you suggest that we go ahead and call CRO or wait for the call? I know alot can happen between now and December! Can't decide what to do!

I was just not satisfied with the rate of my room since it was the same rate that I would have had any way when I called CRO. I had a standard room for $124 at AKL which was $50 more per night because I had a comeback rate for FQ. Poly wasn't available for my dates in June. I was disappointed with this rate even though it was a great rate for AKL.

So, I decided to call again using my free cell phone minutes today and tell someone that I was disappointed. I am SO GLAD that I did!! I talked with a wonderful person that explained that I was just moved to a room and my rate was not yet in the computer. My room will be $12 more for a standard and about $24 more for a Savannah. She felt very bad that I was given the wrong information. She said since Friday they have been moving people to the hotels that they really wanted and were suppose to tell everyone that the rates would be adjusted when they were available. I am sure that some rates are already set, but mine wasn't in the system. I am so glad I suffer from OCD and called back! Needless to say, I switched to a savannah room. She will call me when my rate is entered which will be (fingers crossed) Monday or Tuesday.

If you don't get the answer you like, call back. It gets expensive so call the Disney Club number and ask to be transferred. It worked for me from work last week.

Hi Christianweecare

It's very difficuly to advise anyone else on what to do...it's a very personal thing... perhaps we could have got a few dollars more off if we'd waited...who knows, for me it was more important to me to be able to choose where we are staying, than have a CM tell this is all that's left... but again you are going early enough in Dec... Keep in mind there has been a lot posted about discounts and the fact that they probably won't be applicable to POFQ... IF this is the case then I really don't see the benefit in waiting any longer, we're not going to achieve anymore by waiting and I guess I am another Obsessive too!!!!!! By now you are probably totally confused... Go with your gut instinct... if you are happy with the price they offer you (forget about what others are paying, it's irrelevant) take it, then you can all start looking forward to your hols, by the way if you end up at the Poly...see you there!!!!!!

I did bite the bullet and called this morning. I did not speak to a CM in the relocation dept., however, the CM that I did speak with said that there is a possibility that the POFQ renovations could be completed by the time we arrive in Dec. ???? This CM suggested that I just wait for the call. I also received the latest newletter from Jennifer and Dave (Passporter). They also stated that renovations of the French Quarter should be complete by Oct. or Nov. in time for the holiday season. ???? So I'm still just waiting! Also, thanks for your reply, Disney Daft Dad!

I'm getting a little anxious. I booked POFQ with my CM rate...I just wonder what will be made available to me :) I'd just like to know where I'll be staying in about a month... Good luck to everyone!

I also am traveling in Dec 15-19, and read in the Passpprter Newsletter that renovations might be complete in time for the holidays. Also, my TA said that codes and upgrades were not in the system for that time, so she advised a wait-and-see period. So I'll just sit back and see what happens. I'm really happy for everyone that has trips right around the corner that have gotten an upgrade. Hopefully, Disney will work their magic for everyone else that haven't gotten their rezzies settled. Good luck to you.

I called this morning and was transferred to the relocation dept. and spoke to a very nice CM.

Just some information for anyone who booked a package - Dream Maker - They don't have the upgrades in their computer for these packages. A certain dept. (don't remember what she called it) works on the package deals and they are working on them slowly (her words). She hopes they will have them done by Mon. or Tus. She is personally holding my reservation and will call my TA as soon as they are complete.

I also asked her the availability for the resort that I want and she informed me that there were many availabilities at the time.:Pinkbounc

Our dates are 6/30 - 7/7/03 and we booked Dream Maker + Silver package.

I heard from my TA and was able to change our reservations for PO-FQ 8/22-26 to the Poly, garden view, for an extra $30 per night. That brings our rate to $152 per night, not including tax. We had originally booked using a AAA discount, so it was originally a slight discount. I had planned to try and take advantage of any codes that came out, but this is a great deal for us and I'm thrilled. After reading all the posts from people who spent ages on hold, I'm glad this trip was booked with a TA and all I had to do was reply to an email and have this taken care of!

I hope things work out for others who are still waiting!
