POFQ boat to DTD?

How long does the boat ride take to get to DTD? And where does it drop you off? (specificaly looking for how far it is to the new Toy Store) Is there somewhere I can get a boat schedule? (and a DTD store schedule?)

My fiance' and I stayed at POFQ last month and one day took the boat to DTD. We waited 10 mins. for a boat to pull up, then the driver has to keep the boat docked for 10 mins. and wait for more passenagers who want to ride the boat. The actual ride is about 10 - 13 mins. All together it took us 35 mins. to get to DTD! Not that bad if you have leiuser (SP) time but the next time we went to DTD we took the bus and got there in 10 mins!! Includes waiting time! (there are more buses to rotate then boats.)


If it's raining they won't run the boat until the water level goes down. The boat has to fit under a low bridge. That happened I think 2 of our 5 day vacation. We inquired about a boat time guide but all the cast member told us was the boat runs from 11am - 4pm and you could wait as much as 20 mins for the next boat. (That is if you get to the dock and a boat just left.)
All in all the boat ride is great! Just make sure you allow time for travel.

There isn't a boat schedule, they just come when they come. They do run later than 4 pm though. We took one to DD at around 7pm one night last December, so maybe the hours vary with season and they run later when the parks close earlier? As for drop off, they drop off right by the Rainforest Cafe which is not far from the new Toy Store, right there in the shops on that side of DD. Defint ely don;t do this if you are in a hurry it is a nice way to travel but very slow.

Transportation to Downtown Disney. Boats depart daily from French Quarter (was Port Orleans) every 40 minutes from 10:00am to 4:00pm. After 4:00pm, departures are every 20 minutes until 11:15pm. The final return trip from Downtown Disney departs at midnight. Due to popularity and limited seating capacity, you may experience an extended wait before boarding. All guests must exit boat at the destination and reboard at the queue line for return trip. The boat dock is in the back of the hotel property. (7/00

Were there last week and they ran from Riverside and FQ starting at 4 pm, and ending at 11 PM (last boat back from DD was 11:30). They were running every 15 minutes from Riverside and every 20 mins from FQ. The ride took 15 minutes, and was a really relaxing ride. Took us less time to take the boat than find a parking space at DD.

Wow, I thought I had read several places that the boat to DTD had been discontinued! I'm happy to hear that it's still running. We're staying at POR and I thought it would be nice to take the boat at least once.
