So I have booked POFQ for our upcoming trip December 7 -11 and I now know thanks to these boards that it is Pop Warner week. I am only worried about the crowds in the parks which people have reassured me will not be bad and the crowdness of the food court. Of Course I am a little frightened that if my older DD 6 sees the cheerleaders she may want to join in, but that is a whole different thread. :flower: So I guess my question is how crowded does POFQ get??? I have 4 kids so there is no way that I can swing 2 rooms at a deluxe so we are stuck there, but just curious.

BTW we are very excited about staying there. The kids plan on swimming no matter the weather. This is how addicted they are they ask to watch the planning dvd every day instead of a movie. I know I must get them some help

Thanks

than you would at POR as it is smaller, has smaller food services, fewer rec offereings and is more sedate. This is just my opionion. I have heard that the Pop Warner hordes have been moving into the moderates since they have maxed out the All-Star resorts.

We have been at WDW before with Pop Warner crowds. Never really saw the players and coaches but did have a few run-ins with the young cheerleaders and the old cheerleaders ( I refuse to call them chaperones as they did not control their girls and were a terrible example by allowing them to break in line, push smaller childern out of the way, be loud ALL OF THE TIME, etc.). We finally started heading in a different direction if we saw them coming and we were fine. Not enough to ruin a vacation but it is good to know about them!

Have a great time!

We were at POFQ this past Dec. during Pop Warner week. We had no problems at all- never heard them cheering or being loud. The food court was really busy one night when we got back from the parks. I think it was around 7:30 or so- since the parks close early this time of year, we got back around peak dinner time. But, they were all polite and mannerly. We also saw a large group waiting for a bus one morning- but they didn't get on ours. They had a cm with them escorting them around I guess. Anyway, we had no problems at all. You might want to ask to be placed away from them when you check in- we didn't b/c we really wanted to be close to the bus stop and food court. My guess is they place them in the furthest buildings from the main building- but I don't know that.
You'll be fine. Enjoy it- WDW is so wonderful that time of year!!!!

Thank you for both of your responses. It is nice to know that we will be pretty good. I requested a first floor connecting room close to the food court. We can not wait to see the hotel and check out the pool. Tink, do they have any special decorations there for the holidays?

Yes, there is a big tree in the lobby, wreaths everywhere, and Christmas music playing in the background in the food court. There are touches of Christmas everywhere. Don't worry- everywhere on property is decorated to the hilt! You can't help but be in the Christmas spirit after leaving WDW in Dec.!

We were at the POR this last December during Pop Warner week. It really wasn't that bad. They did invade the food court at meal times, but if you go a little earlier or later you'll probably miss most of them. Didn't really see them that much at the parks. If you do run into them just head in the other direction, especially from the cheerleaders, they were the worst.

Have fun, it's a great time of year to go to WDW. The smaller crowds and Christmas decorations far outweigh any irritation from the Pop Warner groups.

We were at POR 2 years ago and the Pop Warner cheerlearder came in during the last two days of our trip. They were a little louder, but we didn't hear them from our room. The only problem was that they took over the pool in the evening and had very little supervision. My children wanted to swim and were run over many times by their horseplay.

I don't think they are as many at POFQ. Good luck!!
