POFQ and AAA discounts

I received a AAA quote for a package at POFQ in June, and from what I can tell, it was about a 10% discount off of the room portion of the package. I have read that when general public discounts come out, that POFQ usually does not get a very high discount, maybe only 5%. So does this mean that I have very little chance of my room rate decreasing when the public discounts are released?

I like the size of POFQ, but there is a part of me that would like a royal room at POR. The prices are quite a bit more than what I want to pay, but would it be worth trying to book, just so I could potentially get a good discount? Or would it make more sense to book a package at POFQ (or Pop, I'm still deciding) knowing I likely won't get a better discount than AAA?

It's hard to predict whether POFQ will be included or not. Depends on how full it is during the promotion.

I will be arriving at POFQ in 21 days and have a 35% military discount, but had to be garden view because that was all that was available. :upsidedow

Thanks. I think I decided not to worry about POFQ and just go with Pop anyhow. If I'm lucky, maybe Pop will get a good discount and lower the cost of my trip even more! But I guess it would need to be more than a 10% discount to make it worthwhile.

:cheer2:Have stayed at both POFQ and POP - actually I've either stayed in or toured through all of the resorts on Disney property.

POP really appeals to kids and I enjoy the size and atmosphere there. It is also nice to walk over the bridge to Art of Animation's food court. Catching a bus is convenient as well. Pricing is always good here, but FD is always QS.

POFQ is my personal favorite for price/landscaping/overall intimate feel. I LOVE the smallness and being able to find so many little garden areas scattered about. It is so nice to walk over to the 'river' at night and watch the boats shuttling people to/from DTD.

Then there is the wonderful sound of horse hoofs as the carriage rolls down the narrow brick streets. Moderates have ceiling fans (big plus for me), queen beds, FD is TS (when it is available here). Plus they are a sister resort to POR so you can wander the grounds there as well. Everything is lush and green and calming ... ahhhhh.

The Royal rooms are very nice with lots of small touches to discover during your stay, but are no bigger than other rooms at either PO resort.

Down sides: POFQ is often not included in FD due to it filling so quickly, so the 10% AAA discount helps a bit. POR Royal Rooms are more costly, but are generally available thus included in FD promotions.

Just a bit of info to add to your decision making process.
