I will be staying at POFQ August 13-19.
Is the resort crowded during that time period?
How is transportation to the parks?- do the buses come often?
Do they stop here or at POR first?
How long is the trip to each park?
Which building is centrally located to bus and pool?
What about River View?
Any information is appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my many questions!:goodvibes

We stayed at POFQ last year around August 28th.

The resort was great, its a smaller resort. Never had a long wait at the food court and there was plenty of room at the pool

We had our own buses to the parks, and the boat to DTD wasnt crowded either.

We stayed at building 4 which was right behind the bus stop but also real close to thefood court and our car.

I've never been in August so I cannot comment on the crowds for that time of year.
The POFQ is a nice compact resort. I have stayed in building 3 once and building 5 twice. The visit I was in building 3 my sister stayed in building 2.
All 3 buildings were in great locations. Buildings 1 and 7 are the farest from the food court and the bus stop. But that said since the resort is so compact even they are not so far as to make you feel like you are so far out.
Buildings 5 and 2 would be the closest to the Pool.
The POFQ generally shares bus service with the POR. The POFQ is first on pick up and drop off except going to and from DTD, and then the POR is first.
The boat to DTD is a nice perk, it is very relaxing.
Buses generally come about every 15 minutes or so.
A waterview room can give you either a view of the pool or the river. Because the POFQ is a resort with outside entries to me paying extra for a waterview is kind of a waste, but I am sure there are others that feel differently.
I love the POFQ and I think that it is a great resort, the landscaping is beautiful and the themeing of the resort is really neat.

We stayed at POFQ May 07 - I think you'll find it to be very nice, convenient, and quiet ...

The buses work great - they are shared with POR, but for most destinations POFQ is picked up first and dropped off first. The buses can get crowded at night when the parks empty, so just hang out for half an hour in the parks before heading to the buses ... :) With a "wait time" at POFQ, to be conservative I would give yourselves about 45 minutes to get to each park (the actual drive is about 20 ...) ... we made it back from Epcot one day in only 7 minutes!! :woohoo:

All of the buildings are close to the lobby and pool - no more than a relaxed 2-3 minute walk (it is a small resort!!) Buildings #2 and #5 border the pool (which is a treat in itself!! - if you have kids, good luck getting them out of there!! :lmao: )

I wouldn't bother spending the extra $$ for a River View - you're just a short stroll away from any building.

Check out the following for pictures, reviews, etc.

You asked about having a river view ....

Overall, I have a very dim opinion on paying for ANY view at any of WDW's 4 Moderate resorts.

The simple reason for this is that your dor and window open onto an exterior corridor ... motel-style. People walk along these corridors to get to an from their rooms.

So if your curtains are wide open so you can enjoy your view, then everybody walking by has a great view of ... YOU!

Here's the other problem. As far as reservations go, there is no such category as "river view." The category is "water view." This means your room will have a view of the Sassagoula River OR a view of the pool. There is NO WAY to reserve and guarantee one or the other. You can reserve and guarantee only that the room will have a water view. The "type" of water you will have a view of will remain unknown to you until you check-in. You can request one or the other, but that's merely a request and is never guaranteed.

Buses, when shared, stop at POFQ forst and then go on to POR. When busy, the bus might not even go on to POR and might just go directly to its destination. Or it might stop at only 1 or 2 of POR's 4 stops. After 3:00 p.m., buses LEAVING Magic Kingdom are NOT shared ... at that place after that time, there are totally separate buses for POFQ and POR. Buses to and from Downtown Disney stop at POR first and POFQ last.
