I finally got an iPod and I'm wanting to put some podcasts on it. I think I'm figuring out how to do it (guess I'll know for sure when I actually go to listen to what I think I've put on my iPod. :rotfl:

Anything I should know about them that's not obvious?

What's the difference between the discussion show and the email show?

in the discussion show they do the segments for example: rapid fire news, julie's wedding on disney, kevin's dinner reviews, etc
On the e-mail show they read and hear the voice mail answering to the Disfans all sort of questions.

If you are using iTunes (which, with an iPod, I assume you are) search "dis unplugged" and click on the first of the two titles that come up in the results list. Next, there should be a list of the DIS Unplugged podcasts (a good 150 or so) Just click "subscribe" or "get all" and go do something else while they download. After that, sync your iPod and you'll be good for months. :)

That makes perfect sense. :)

That sounds a lot easier than what I was starting to do...going to the unplugged link and downloading one by one. I downloaded a couple that way and I see it in my library, but it's not on my iPod (which is plugged in). The songs automatically load on my iPod and I'm not sure why the other hasn't. Or maybe I just haven't found it. :rotfl: I'll try your way and report back. :hyper:

when your ipod is plugged in click on your ipod in itunes. your summary should come up then click the tag up top that says "podcasts" and under that should be

all podcast and sync click on SYNC then APPLY

Thanks! I SYNCed it and it's now showing up on my iPod. Not sure why they've automatically shown up on my iPod before (songs, not podcasts). Also, I wasn't able to download them all. When I pushed the subscribe button it downloaded the most recent one (the email unplugged) and subscribed me to future ones. Is there another button I'm missing to download all the old ones at once?

tinkbutt, where on the eastern shore do you live? My DD just graduated from Salisbury U.

you might have to delete your subscription and your podcast folder on your Ipod then go back and resubscribe to the podcast. now you don't have to sync your Ipod again because it is now set to just pick up the shows.

it might have only picked up the new ones because you already had some downloaded. A fresh start might get them all in one shot. so delete them from your itunes library & Ipod and give it a fresh go! should only take a few minuets to do.

I'm old...it takes me a few minutes to even think about doing. :rotfl2: I had to ask my 14yo to show me how to even work the blasted iPod when I got it. I often have my 8yo show me how things are done, too. It's sad. ;)

I took everything off and started over and it still just downloaded the latest one. I'm confuzzled.

Yeah, I can push the "get episode" button for each one...

Of course in all the time I've taken trying to figure this out I could have downloaded each one. :rotfl:

yeah I just don't understand why your computer won't download all of them that's so odd.:confused3

sorry I couldn't help

So much for having a place I can run to with my stolen tag and not be found. Congrats on the 'pod. Now you are one of the pod people. :) Get the "best of" or "ten years of DIS" or whatever that was called. You have to hear the review with the Sad Little Crabcakes. :lmao:

Tig, I had the same issue with the podcast. It would download automatically, then it stopped. Then it would download only the Discussion part and I'd have to manually download the Email part. Finally I got them to download automatically.

I wish I knew which of the things I tried was the one that worked, but I don't. Keep plugging away and eventually it will work.

I also have to recommend this book. It is the best book and made for people like me who need to be shown ONE THING per page, and just how to do it...step by step..."don't tell me how it works, just show me how to do it!" It's funny, too.

Hey Garbanzo! I'll look into the book...maybe I'll figure things out that my kids don't know and they'll think I'm smart. Yeah, I know, not likely. :lmao:

Click on that the little gray triangle next to the DIS Unplugged so that it is pointing down. That will expand the list of downloaded episodes. See in the pic below how it's pointing down for DIS Unplugged and not for WDW Today?

TOTALLY likely!!!! The one and only time I have known more about cool stuff than the kids was after I got that book!!! I was all, "How do you like me now?!" They were all, :rolleyes2 "You don't need to know that. Who has to read a book to use their iPod?" But they know I know more and that's all that matters. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Another thing on that "best of" or "ten years of DIS" or whatever it was was Bob showing up with...I'm not going to ruin it and tell you. But it was hilarious. I cracked up at that. I hadn't listened back then and loved hearing those. Hearing it might be a little bittersweet now that Bob has died, but it is worth a listen and still funny.

I love how they use VISUAL aids on the podcast. The DIS may be the only "Podcast...with visual aids!" out there. :teeth:

And...for the gazillionth time, NOT a garbanzo bean! A COOL Bean! There's a tag...there's a signature...some people NEVER learn! :sad2:
