Podcast Team In-Park Encounters

Since the team is going to be spending more time in the parks and Pete mentioned that people had already approached them, I figured it would be fun for those of us who see them in the park to share our stories!

I'll start ...
On Monday 1/11, my sister (not a podcast watcher) and I were in Magic Kingdom, trying to get from Fantasyland to Big Thunder Mountain in the middle of the Festival of Fantasy parade. We ended up walking through the outdoor seating area of some restaurant (I want to say it was Pecos Bill's, but I don't know my Disney restaurants because we mostly bring our own food), and we walk past these two guys eating lunch. I turned to my sister and whispered, "that's the guys from the podcast!" After a short debate, I decided to go over to them. Because, you know, interrupting people in the middle of a meal is not rude at all...

I don't even remember what I said, mostly because I was so excited that I wasn't even thinking straight (seriously, ask my sister - I was still talking about it for like the next hour). Pete and Craig probably think I'm crazy (not far from the truth ... although they were really nice and Pete said it was good that I came over to say hi). But they were still willing to be in a picture with me:

I was really glad that I got to see them, and I hope that I can run into more members of the podcast team on future trips (and hopefully be less awkward)!

No experience to share, but glad you decided to go over and say hello. I've met all the podcasters at some point or other and they all enjoy chatting with their listeners. Don't be shy everybody!

I haven't met any of the podcasters yet, but @newmouse2008 and I are planning a day at Shaker Village together next time she's up this way.

At least, that's what she promised in chat. But she might have been pulling my leg. I'm naïve like that.

I am apparently the only person who did not. I already knew he was tall, it didn't surprise me.
Or maybe I'm just short and to me everyone is tall.

I haven't met them but I was so close once I was really disappointed that I didn't. Marathon Sunday 2015 we were watching the Packers play at the ESPN club outside. My uncle and I went to get somethings to eat at the pizza window and boardwalk bakery. If you watch the boardwalk 7 in 7 video where they are inside the bakery you can see me. All I had to do was turn around! My uncle is then in line at the pizza window when they show that. When I saw that after the fact I was like OMG! I just missed them!

I swore I saw Teresa at the Atlanta airport a while back on our way to MCO, but I was really hesitant to say hello if it wasn't her! That's as close as I get, lol. Awesome that you ran in to them!!

We met Michael Bowling at EPCOT during Food and Wine last year. He was in town to announce the Commecting with Walt podcast. Very nice man and we enjoyed meeting him.

He seems like such a sweetie, and I love his voice - I want him to read me "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" this year!

I would love to meet Michael Bowling (am I spelling that correctly?) Even better, I'd love to be able to sit down for a cup of tea (or several) and ask him a hundred questions about Walt and Disney in general! On second thought, it's probably best I don't run into him. It might come off a bit "Misery" ish....

There needs to be a Michael Bowling Disney History Hotline - you can call the number every day, and you get a new piece of Disney history as told by Michael Bowling. That or just have him give DIS-exclusive tours of the parks (actually, that might be a cool fundraiser for GKTW).

I think they should have one of the special telephones on Main Street be dedicated where all you hear is Michael Bowling talk about Walt (do they have these phones at the WDW Magic Kingdom, too?)
