Podcast polls

Request from an avid viewer.

My family does not use social media but would love to participate in the show polls but sadly cannot because they are always on Facebook. I'm sure we are not the only ones and would like to plead that at some point show polls could include listeners who could contribute via the Boards.

Please help my cause and comment and maybe Pete and crew will notice!

There's another site I frequent that uses Facebook for their comment system. If it wasn't for that site and entering contests on the DIS, I probably wouldn't still have my FB account.

That being said, I'm sure one of the reasons they use FB for the polls is because of greater reach or ease of use for the audience.

I Absolutely feel the same way.

For privacy, and way too many other reasons to even begin to list, I will never join facebook, and everyone I know feels the same way. I'm always amazed when I find anything that requires a facebook membership, and it seems that even MLB did for a while for voting for Hall of Fame, etc., but thankfully a lot a professional organizations have gone away from that. Presumably cut their ties because of all of the controversy/ continuing issues with facebook, no? Seemed silly to begin with, really. An ultimatium to belong to facebook or not participate for something like....( fill in the blank) this? or that?!! WOW! Can only end up causing resentment in the long run, and over something that's supposed to be fun and lighthearted. Such a shame, really.

I know behind it all it all it comes down to money, one way or another, and I accept that. It's not life or death, and I freely make my choices like everyone else here.

Bottom line I guess is just like snolin, I would 'LIKE' the podcast show a lot more if there weren't these conditions to participate, and again know a bunch that feel the same..

Just my 2 cents. I do love the comment, and I enjoy the show a LOT, too.

Many sites (ESPN for one) requires a Facebook account to comment and other things. The main reason is because it's easier to limit the amount of votes per user and removes the ability to "hide behind a screen name". The increase in civility is tremendous.

As for me, I just enjoy anything that makes my sign-in experience easier, so I wish everything could be connected via FB.
