Podcast hiatus - what are you listening to?

You can now listen to my interview with Marty Sklar that was just posted on the blog too... ;)

I enjoy listening to Inside The Magic. Ricky Brigante's show is more like a radio show, but it is well produced.

I also like Inside the Magic although it is very different from the Dis. I also listen to This American Life (more general stuff), Stuff You Should Know and Stuff You Missed in History Class (makes history fun).

I don't have time for any others! :lmao:

Be Our Guest Podcast with Mike Rahlmann :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

This and WDW Today are two of my favorites.

Listening to other podcasts is like cheating on Pete, Walter, Teresa and Wayne. I don't see how anybody could do that, especially after all the knowledge the Disboards have given you.

I know that Pete and the gang are too modest to say this, but they are the only people worth listening to. One time I toyed with the notion of listening to another podcast but after 20 seconds i couldnt believe those bozos. they were not like our guys!

"Last night I danced with a stranger,
but she just
reminded me
you were the one."
-- Bob Dylan

Dont make the same mistake I did. Show your loyalty to Pete and the crew.

This idea is just crazy...I mean, really?? Cheating on the Podcast Crew?? We are not dating. :rotfl:

Frankly...I think the breaks in the podcast are more frequent than they might should be...an occasional break is totally fine, especially a surprise illness or something.

But I do listen to other podcasts...and they figure out a way to not have a break - or at least not as many. I am sure they record more than one podcast at a time and record early in order to provide a podcast over holidays, vacations and illness. And I am sure some even have totally canned podcasts that they can use in a real pinch that are not "dated" with certain information.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the DIS! And it is my main forum and where I have met some of my closest friends.

I have watched MANY families - mostly Make a Wish families - get massive amounts of gifts and once in a lifetime experiences that are a direct result of the DISboards. They have opened the park at the MK, met Gingerbread Men, and had many other specific wishes - that Make a Wish could not grant them - granted to them because of the wonderful people on the DISboards.

I appreciate Pete and the gang and have told them so on several occasions - but I don't consider listening to other podcasts to be "cheating"...that thought is a bit ridiculous to me.

In addition to the DIS Unplugged I listen to the WDW Radio Show with Lou Mongello, WDW News Today Podcast with Tom Corless and WDW Today with Matt Hochberg. I need my Disney fix! princess:

Me too!

The Dis show is practically the only regular podcast I listen to. I sometimes get into This American Life, or try a comics or political podcast, but not very often. I'm not entirely crazy about everything Pete and the gang do or say, but I will admit, they (or the subject matter, rather) hook me like nobody else. And Disney World isn't even my main fetish.

I wonder if during the hiatus I'll dig into the back catalogue. Probably.

I am really enjoying reading the lists of other podcasts people listen to.

The fact that we are on DISBoards means we are sort of Disney (or DIS Unplugged) fanatics.

I appreciate seeing that many of us have other interests and have a more well-rounded life.:thumbsup2

Instead of betraying Pete, Walter, Wayne and Teresa Echoes etc., by listening to other shows, you should re-visit some of the old podcasts.

Some shows take more than one listen to fully digest. Upon repeated listening, you will pick up on subtle things that you may have missed the first time.

Some shows are worth memorizing, like the one about the Food and Wine Festival. I like to make annotations so that i can reference them later on.

Keep up the good works you guys!

Who the heck is Wayne?

I download Wdw Today, Inside the Magic, and Wdw Radio Show but I am so far behind in listening to their shows. I stay caught up with the Dis podcast because it is the best and Im always interested in hearing what they are up to.

Besides the Dis Unplugged I enjoy WDW Radio and Wedway Radio. I tried listening to some others, but these are the only ones I have stuck with.

I listen to music that reminds me of Disney World. I like calypso obviously. I also like a fifties song that nobody has ever heard of except for the brilliant people who decide what music to play at disney.

I was at that 50's place at MGM Hollywood Studio and they played Richard Lanham's "On Your Radio"

I bet you guys a million disney bucks you will dancing around the house on thanksgiving if you youtube that freakin thing.

I have downloaded loads of podcasts but don't get to hear them all, including Lou Mongello's show.

I love Las Vegas and listen to three podcasts about that.

I also love the author Scott Sigler and listen to his podcasted novels.

I love the TV show Fringe and listen to a weekly podcast about that.

I like the idea of news as history and I listen to the top-of-the-hour CNN radio broadcasts after letting them build up for a month or two.

Lately though, I have discovered Phineas and Ferb and I listen to all the podcast I have found that deal with that show. (Gitchi gitchi goo means that I love you)

I have read the first two books of the Hunger Games trilogy and listen to podcasts about that now too.

Len Edgerly's Kindle Chronicles is a wonderful listen. The only problem is never listen in a car, Len has such a relaxing voice he'll put you right to sleep!

I also like listening to Buzz Out Loud from CNET and some of Leo Laporte's podcasts.

The DIS really is my favorite. It's the one I keep coming into iTunes for and hitting the refresh button.

In addition to the ones mentioned I also like the Passporter Mom's Guide to WDW - It with Jennifer Marx from the Passporter series.

I think it's interesting to get other's points of views. Because even though I love the DIS - I do like to hear what others say about certain things (ie reviews etc.) The more information I can get the better.

The dis is the first podcast that i ever listened to and I love it. I have started listening to a few others as I get closer to my first trip to the world. mainly, wdw radio, wdw today, be our guest, and the intercot insider. I like to hear other's thoughts on disney. However the dis podcast is the best and I thank them for all the information and laughter they have provided over the last few years. :goodvibes
