Cruisers, what's the best memory of cruise for you? Was it hearing Disney legends Bob Gurr or Charlie Ridgway? The fabulous Jodi Benson? Time with old friends, new friends, your family or the Podcasters? A funny moment at dinner or in a show?

Geez, I have so many...

It was mostly meeting some Dis friends in person. I have played Animal Crossing with Lois and Greg and it was great to finally meet them in person and have dinner with them. I enjoyed spending time with Nancy and Ian and her girls, who I haven't seen in a year.

But I really enjoyed meeting Walter, then Pete, and Teresa and Kevin and the rest of the Podcast team.

I was waiting in line with Nancy to meet Jodi Benson and Nancy introduced me to Walter. It was just an awesome moment. Then after meeting Jodi Benson, I was able to meet Pete. Tuesday night, I ran into Kathy and Teresa in front of the Walt Disney World Theater and asked if I could take a picture with them. Teresa had met me in the halls before, but Kathy didn't even ask who I was. She just stood up and smiled for the camera...no questions asked. I did introduce myself before leaving but it was great that she was that friendly. After the group picture on Castaway Cay I was able to spend some time with Teresa and my husband scared her with all the computer talk. (sorry Corey). And then meeting Kevin again. I had first met him in the halls of the ship with John and then again waiting to meet Jodi. But on Castaway Cay I went up to just say thank you for the awesome cruise and he gave my husband and I a re-booking the cruise talk. As I was taking pictures by Mount Rustmore, I hear this familiar voice yelling at me from an island vehicle not to forget to rebook. Guests were just looking at me wondering what that was all about.

There are so many more wonderful things I could write about but these were my highlights.

My first cruise was great, very cold, but great. My only regret is that I didn't get to meet very many Disers. I just couldn't seem to find any. :confused3

Seeing my DH go from a nonpodcast spouse, to a total believer in all things podcast and Disney. He wants to join the boards, we booked 3.0 on board and he turned to me and asked about going on 4.0. I was blown away. The guests were wonderful and meeting Pete, John, Kevin and the rest of the team was a dream come true.

Meeting and chating with all the DISers.

Getting a big hugs from Pete.

Watching Tangled with an audience filled with Disney fans.

Most memorable moment? Seeing Webmaster Alex's backside. :scared1:

Seriously, there were too many to count.
  • I'd rate the Bob Gurr/Charlie Ridgeway session very high.
  • Also, John and Teresa rising out of the stage.
  • And just the shear coolness of Bob Gurr doing DATW with us.
  • All the impromptu chats with DIS friends old & new (yes, including you Kathy)
  • Spilling a drink on Alicia during DATW (thank goodness Paul was understanding)
  • Jodi Benson both on stage and off stage - what a wonderful person. Got to observe her just being Mom while on Castaway Cay and she's just plain down-to-earth
  • Val & I adopting a whole bunch of DIS children (I better get the will revised)

And just the shear coolness of Bob Gurr doing DATW with us.

It was a little surreal to be DATW'ing with someone whose name is on a building on Main Street!!! He is such a hoot! And he hung with the group through whole night and through Illuminations. I spent time with him in Mexico (at the end of DATW), and he still had more energy than those of us half his age.

Every time I saw him onboard and back on land, he was holding court with a different group of people. To have him connect with so many different DISers on a very personal and fun level, and for him to share so many inside stories was such an unexpected treat.

Talk about the ULTIMATE backstage access- you can't plan or buy that! :cloud9:

Meeting old and new friends! I know I didn't get to meet everyone but I am so thankful to those that took the time to come up to me. I can finally put some faces to the names I see here on the DIS.

I had a great time!

Too many great moments. But just a few that are extra special in my mind:

1. Watching Bob Gurr dance in Wavebands and win the Disco contest.

2. Dinner with Charlie Ridgeway.

3. Meeting Jodi and Ray Benson.

4. Catching up with old friends.

5. Ring of Fire!! Ring of Fire!!

There is no one memory that stands out in my mind, but several highlights of the trip...

In no particular order:

- Jodi Benson concert and autograph signing - she was simply wonderful
- Podcast Live
- Listening to 2 Disney Legends talk about their experiences
- Bob Gurr hanging out with various DISers on the cruise. I got a kick out of seeing him enjoying himself with everyone & winning a drink ticket at the disco dance contest
- Spending time with my friends at dinner & Wavebands, and continuing our tradition of closing it down
- Spending time w/other DISers I rarely see - WMKathy, Yvette & Emiel, Skip, Kathy W., Gibson & Mary Jo, etc.
- Watching Tangled 3-D w/a few hundred friends
- Our servers were fantastic (Cesar & Carlo), which made our dining so much more enjoyable
- Walking around the decks and seeing the cabins decorated
- Ring of Fire will never sound the same to me again

I really cannot pick just one out of these experiences, and there's more

This would have never happened if not for the Podcast team & their hard work. Thank you, Genius John, Pete, & everyone

Of course, I rebooked for 3.0 :teeth:

I loved talking to everyone in the promenade lounge on the last night.

I also loved on the first night just walking around at one in the morning. The ship was deserted and I really got to look at the details.

I also loved the Twilight meet where the Jacob and Edward figures were passed around for a good 45 minutes

Like the rest of you, I can not limit my response to just one...

  • Meeting Bob Gurr
  • The amazing Jodi Benson Concert
  • Seeing the spot on Castaway Cay where I proposed to my DW (now cabana 19)
  • Getting to spend time with some great friends
  • Hearing about some amazing snacks
  • Making new friends
  • My Paris Pin

There are so many more...

Hearing that story, and seeing John come up on the elevator on the stage, were the funniest parts of the cruise.
seeing Kim everywhere I went! ;) great to spend so much time with you Kim.

Like other folks, picking one thing is impossible.

- seeing friends you dont get to see often enough
- meeting and making new friends
- hearing and seeing people try new things
- meeting and listening to our three Disney Legends. Being a Disney geek, it
kept coming back to me that there was an amazing amount of Disney
history traveling with us. Hearing about some of that history directly from
the person involved was incredible.

The last things are the memories from the cruise. On the ship, I would try to savor each thing, but there was always the next thing to do, the next event to set up, making sure that we didnt forget the details....you know what I mean.

Being home, I'm enjoying remembering the conversations, the funny moments and the details.

I had a "magical moment" for myself on the last night of the cruise. We were getting ready for dinner and I had to run out to meet someone at about 5:30.

I came down in the aft elevator and got off to walk along Promenade Lounge toward the atrium.

As I got off the elevator and walked toward the porthole windows, I saw Ariel, dressed in her beautiful green dress. She had her back to me, looking out the big round window.

As I approached, she turned and said "isnt the sunset lovely?" (it was)

For a moment I was a little kid and speechless. I finally asked if she knew that Jodi Benson was traveling on board the ship and she let out a little gasp, put her hand to her necklace and said "oh my, she gave me my voice. I owe her everything."

I think Renysmom and jacstangler were there and took pictures of this....otherwise I might be able to convince myself that this was a dream.

After a fun, busy, hectic, too short cruise...this was just a short moment, but it looking back at it, it's sort of a symbol for everything I love about Disney.

A middle aged guy, rushing around, can be stopped dead in his tracks by a Princess admiring the sunset.

Like the rest of you, there were too many moments to pinpoint a favorite but here are a few...

* Jodi Benson Concert (I wasn't expecting to be so moved by it but it brought tears to my eyes several times)

* the star introduction when we got on the ship (I've been on several cruises but this was my first Disney Cruise so it was totally unexpected)

* Seeing the Mickey pool for the first time

* 3 1/2 hour dinner with good friends at Palos

* Passing out Fish Extender gifts with a group of friends and wine

AND the Best Part...

* reserving our cabin for 3.0

Thanks Pod Cast Team for a most memorable cruise

That's a great story Kevin. Thanks for sharing it.

When my family was watching the final show of the cruise "Disney Dreams" and the Ariel/Little Mermaid number came on I thought something similar. I thought, "I wonder if the woman singing 'Part of Your World' knows that Jodi Benson was on the ship." Then I thought, I wonder if she does know if that adds any extra pressure?

I have to agree with everyone else, it is very hard to pick one thing that was a favorite.

  1. Jodi Benson's concert - seeing my girls completely in heaven listening to one of their idols.
  2. Meeting Bob Gurr and Charlie Ridgway after exchanging messages with them for so long
  3. Sharing a dinner table with Teresa's family, and having my family get to know her family better.
  4. Pete and John inviting me on stage for the podcast recording

Here's one that will stick with me though, and I have to give credit where credit is due. John Magi told me this would be the case, and, as always, he was exactly right. Seeing how excited all of the guests on PCC2.0 were meeting our special VIP guests Jodi Benson, Bob Gurr, Charlie Ridgway, and Lee Cockerell.

When I was helping to take photos in Jodi Benson's autograph line, I was able to meet so many of our friends from the boards. That was wonderful for me to say hi, put a face with the name, and share some stories. I'm so glad I was able to help out in that way. I loved being able to meet so many new friends.
