Big weekend around here. My eldest niece is getting married this afternoon. Jeez it makes me feel really old. But since age is just a state of mind, this too shall pass.

Tomorrow is the big statewide rivalry in college football. UofM vs. MSU. Sparty On!!

Sunday is our favorite Thai places once a month taster buffet, so its a good time to try new dishes and expand horizons.

DW and I sailed on the Wonder 12/7/08. Be prepared for cool weather leaving Port Canaveral. You'll want to be outside so a sweater/fleece/hoody could be handy. Other than that it was balmy to hot in Nassau and CC, like Mike said.

Thx a mint for the fab weather info, folks! I asked on the cruise board a few months ago but this makes it much clearer for me - it's going to make packing light much easier!

But anyway - good to have the connection back

I got some not-so-good news yesterday...seems I have to have surgery to remove my gall bladder....the doctor is pushing for the beginning of November..have to meet with the surgeon on Tuesday....I really hope this doesn't mess up going on the cruise...that would just su**....has anyone had this done? She said it would be laproscopic (spelling??) and I would be home the same day and the recovery wouldn't be more than a week or so....anyone have experience in this? I'm really nervous about this...I'm freakin out....

I had mine done that way. In and out, the scars have faded long ago (they were tiny to start with too). It did get me out of work for a week long vacation at Gram's house though.

My Mum has this done by keyhole surgery years ago and she did great! Hers was really bad though, she had to be admitted ASAP. Hope it goes ok

Thanks, I'm not having any symptoms...they did a CT Scan last month looking for one thing and found this...go figure

Glad your not having any syptoms Cheri... The sooner the better having it done then you will be all healed for the cruise. I had the same thing happen a few months ago did a scan for my kidney and found that...I just keep avoiding the doctor! But he will catch me sooner than later to have it done. You first! then I will think about it. I just can't really be out of commission for a whole week, can't even imagine that!

A friend of mine had it done. She took a week off and watched all the shows she had TiVo'ed and then was back in action the next week. Went really well! HTH!

Thanks for asking. I am mending. I think I mend slower as I get older. I know I will be traveling with an Ace bandage for "just in case".

Just back from a two day library conference. Now three days off, back to work on Tuesday. Hope I remember all the exciting ideas I got.

Just a quick hello as I sit in the hotel room, in our old home town. Just got back from oldest DS wedding rehearsal and dinner. Wedding at 2:00 tomorrow so it's going to be a crazy busy day start to finish.

OMG Cheri!! I just made myself an appt today with the GI doctor for the same thing! Was in the ER last friday night from the pain, but they sent me home. Couldn't figure out for sure if I have gallstones. Good luck to you with the surgery and recovery. Sounds like you'll be ready to go for the cruise. Better to get it done now though, you don't want to chance being on the ship (or anywhere away from home) and having an attack. Keep us posted!!

Get it done. Should heal fast. You might need an extra nap, but it will be fine.

I hope all goes well for you Cheri.
From what I hear the recovery from the Laparoscopic surgery is minimally invasive and only takes a couple of weeks to fully heal verses them having to fully make an incision to remove the gallbladder.
