I need to get moving this morning - and it should be a walk but no storms here. We really could use rain, we have had just enough rain to tease everything, my grass is green in the shade but everywhere else it is brown and dry.

Ours too and it rained quite a bit last week and weekend

Part of my struggle is that I am staying somewhere else so some of the pre-cruise events don't make sense.

Can you just ignore that bit? Sounds like a top secret mission to me

Not even fireworks here - it is amazing given the heat and humidity that we are not getting more t-storms.

Jessica is whining about the AC temperature in the house - it is set at 79. Sorry I don't like $300 electric bills.

I need to log off to finish getting ready for work. I will try to check in throughout the day. All my out of the office meetings for the day have been cancelled - translates into I don't have to drive an additional 100 miles today and that I may be able to drop in.

Internet there is spotty, and she doesn't have wi-fi, so you won't be hearing much from me for a while. Even cell phones don't work there.

Well holy cats. I did not know that there was a posting "contest". I'm new. Now I know. And now I will post my little heart out!

This is my first PCC. Well, my first Disney cruise if you want to know the truth. But I have cruised, on one of those other lines... Shhhh....

This isn't my first group activity though. I'm an ABDer 1.0. I know how these things turn out!

And like the ABD trip, I'm leaving the family at home. Where they belong. Whoo-hoo! Mom will be left unattended!

I banked my balance when I booked it - so I knew the money would be there. I have been putting all extra money in that account to pay for the extras on the trip.

I set this massive spreadsheet last August when I booked the trip, since my daughter was paying for her portion (including her daughter) I kept a record of payments of who paid what (since I actually made the payments on my bank card). We paid the cruise portion off in December, then started working on the land portion. We put money into savings for when the tickets for MVMCP came available and when the airline tickets came on line. Now that everything is paid off...it's all about savings. I know how much everyone has for spending, and I even have an area that I have for tips moneys and little extras we need cash for...like a drink/snack in the airports. My daughter has no interest in this at all...she just leaves it up to me to handle....she says...just tell me how much I have to spend.

I just checked my Southwest flights again and they have dropped again since the drop on Friday. I have now saved $75.00 since Friday on my flights.

That is almost the cost of a one way ticket.......
I may have to plan another trip.

Meetings may have been cancelled but came in to an email complaint from a parent. I get really frustrated when my superviors enagage in passive/aggressive behavior that results in this type of complaint. Right now we are in the passive mode of not communicating with the parent, next it will be a cutting email that is highly critical of the son. Just met with this person YESTERDAY and my exec wants to cut him slack and have someone else be responsible - not on your life! Sorry for the rant!

I want to say eleven or twelve. I think we should be up to at least 18 without serious trying. But having a dedicated sub-forum to the cruise does make this thread live longer.

The last time I "tasted" a martini was as a small child off my mother's finger - hated it then. Wonder if I would still feel the same???

I did both the martini and wine tasting.

On the same day.I took a 'nap' and slept through dinner.

I had the expertise of Jeff and Val at the wine tasting as I couldn't hear the hosts speak. I found out I like Riesling and dry white wine.
I also found out I do NOT like dirty martinis. The other ones were yummy though.

For those that missed it on FB, apparently Todd is back in the hospital. Sure hope things are alright with him.

I'm right as rain.

So, who is dressing for pirate night on the cruise?

Well... some of us have to work!

We are having an art show at the library today. This afternoon was the reception for the artists. Many people came, very successful!

Much to my surprise, I am one of the artists! I figured my fused dichroic glass is art. One of the artists is opening a gallery/store in the next town and said she would like to sell my stuff!

Do we get to see a pic of your work?

Not sure what I am doing... Still very overwhelmed with all of the planning that goes into crusin

It certainly can be overwhelming. On PCC 1.0 Val & I didn't do either the Fish Extenders or dress up for pirate night just because of the added complexity. Can't really say we missed it either.

Good Point, Jeff. Don't worry about doing everything. You can't. Pick what interests you the most and do that. But don't cram every second full of activity. Be sure you have some time to relax and watch the waves.

This is probably the best advise, even if you don't plan much you'll find with all the events and just generally mingling you'll be pretty busy - I don't even think you can hide in you cabin for long I can't wait for Castaway Cay Even if it's chilly I'm trying the new slide thingy
