:cool1: :cool1: Well done, that is the worst bit out the way. We pretty much booked as soon as they were available, I checked during last year for the same dates in December so while they were still lower than that I was happy :thumbsup2
Are you flying from Scotland? From what I've heard the direct flights are being cut all the time :sad2:

Happy Thursday folks! :wave2:

Looking fwd to hearing the Disboard show :thumbsup2

DH has tmrw off so I'm taking it too - TGIF :yay: Checking out the Home Show this weekend to find more ways to sink money into the pit ;) And need to make a 'redneck appy' for a post bowl-a-thon party our friends are having. They're great friends but it's weird whenever I bring something over cuz they pretty well don't eat any veggies at all - not even lettuce & tomato on their hamburgers. To top it off, one's given up beef, wings and chocolate for lent :scared1:

Make it a fab weekend all! :goodvibes

cheers,
:flower3:

We are flying Continental Glasgow to Newark, Newark to Orlando. There are only direct flights during Easter & the summer school holidays.

Out of interest, did you look at getting an internal flight to Manchester and then flying from there to Orlando, with (for example) Virgin?

Flying to Newark must take 7 - 8 hours and from memory it's about 3 hours from there to Orlando. Glasgow to Manchester would probably be an hour and then 8.5 hours to Orlando.

Just wondered what you thought. We have looked at flying from Manchester instead of Gatwick but the flights seemed to be slightly more expensive...and it's further for us to travel anyway.

Great to hear you have booked your flights - look forward to meeting you fellow UKers on the cruise!

Woohoo it's nearly Friday. Just three weeks till Easter....can't wait - 4 day weekend and another 20 days closer to the cruise :)

Way too much hassle flying from Manchester for us, either drive or get the train down which would be ok but the drive back when we're tired takes all the fun out of it.

We could do internal flights from Manchester or London but we would be hanging about too long in Manchester, that was same with Virgin, Thomson & Thomas Cook.

At least this way our first stop is the USA and we can clear customs in New York and there is only a 2 hr wait between flights out and back.

Where do you guys live & fly from?

We're in the midlands but always fly from Gatwick if it's Orando. It's the nearest airport where Virgin fly direct. I wouldn't say they are the best airline (I avoid the plane food) but it's the easiest option for us. Plus they have us hooked with the flying club miles.

If we fly to Europe, we'll go from Stanstead or Luton.....the father in law is closeby ;)

How do you (or anyone else for that matter) rate continental?

Happy Friday All!!!!! I'll be checking in a bit, but thought I would give a big hi-dee-hoe before I turned in for the night.

Since we're talking airports, anyone know if there is a flower shop or a gift shop that sells flowers at MCO? Or will I have to scoot out around town?

Good luck with the app - I don't know what you could do to fit in with no veg, beef, wings or chocolate :confused3 Hope it's a fun party :cool1: :cool1:

I guess we are lucky living in the south and being close to loads of airports, but even getting to Gatwick isn't straight forward. I think we will drive there this time (or rather DH will ;)). I'll have a look at prices, last year we looked at trains and it's ridiculous even in advance - I think it's the Gatwick Express bit that increases the cost :sad2:

:yay: :yay: :yay: for Fridays :thumbsup2

I've never noticed a flower shop at MCO but this link says you can get them - not sure where though http://orlandoairport.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/activities/onsite/details.jsp?onsiteActId=409

Signs of spring!

The town highcrew crews at home and where I work are running the street sweepers. That must mean they are not expecting any more snow, ice or other need to spread salt and sand on the roads. Yippee!

My eyes are starting to weep the way they do when things are starting to blossom. But I still do not see any blossoms.

We're expecting a miserable rainy weekend. It figures that the two nice weekends we've had since the first of the year I had to work. There are still Christmas lights on the house and I am starting to think we are soon to become the white trash neighbors if I don't get them down soon.

We have tickets to see Lion King in Boston on Saturday night. We have orchestra seats which should be fun. We usually sit high up in the balcony when we go to the theatre due to the cost. I splurged since these were a Christmas present for Pam.

Happy Friday:cool1:

You are going to enjoy Orchestra SOOO much better than you would have the balcony! I went with my DD a couple of weeks ago, sat Balcony, and really regretted it. It was too far away to get the best effect of the makeup, and I couldn't hear a lot of the sotto voce lines (yes, I'm old, and my sight and hearing IS going a little). I still got the full effect of the dancing, which was nice...but I should have splurged for at least Mezzanine.

Where are you eating before/after? I recommend this place:

Very casual, very good food, and plenty of it!

Well Happy Friday, everyone! Our house has been sick sick sick. Boooooo! DS is home from school today and is out sanding his Pinewood Derby car. Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute!
I hope that everyone has a great weekend!

I've had Christmas lights strung around my deck railing for 27 months now. I don't turn them on and they aren't even plugged in, just a total pain to unwind/wrap/twirl. So I guess that makes me a little trashy?

Enjoy the show!

Happy Friday Folks!!!

OK, Alicia, where is the hidden Mickey? :)
