Happy Monday! :surfweb:

Love the pics too...wishing I was bathing in the sun.:goodvibes
This week I am getting ready for my daughter's 9th bday & my 40th next monday. She is having her party saturday afternoon. I have 2 cakes & cookies to make this week.
Hope everyone has a good week.
Kathie

Sounds like lots of cake for you guys :goodvibes Yummy :cloud9:
I hope your daughter has a great party and that you enjoy your Birthday too :yay: Are you doing anything special?

Happy Monday folks! :wave2:

Never had beignets yet either but plan to change that in April :cloud9:

Well, you and Gav have got to get here then - the place where wings were invented! Folks here are serious about their pub grub and everyone's got their fave place to get them. :worship: Oh yeah, and there's a big waterfall nearby too that tourists like to see ;) :rotfl: :rotfl:

Great to hear Princess & the Frog was a winner for y'all :goodvibes

I'm heading off to the Olympics so will be checking in less frequently...I'll try to do a few posts of the events I attend. The first one is on Wed: the Opening Ceremony rehearsal...I scored tix thru a friend of an ex of a cousin of a VW owner :rotfl: It's only the rehearsal so they won't be lighting the torch but will be running thru mostly everything else. Considering face value of the actual OC tix are $1100 a piece :scared1: I'm pretty content to see the rehearsal for $50 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Play nice while I'm gone...I know I'll have some crazy catching up to do when I'm back in March :rolleyes1

cheers,
:flower3:

I will tell Gav that you guys have good wings - he'll be in heaven   I'm not a big fan but I like waterfalls :lmao: TBH any excuse for us to go to America ;)

Have a great time at the Olympics :thumbsup2 I will be watching on TV, I like the figure skating, the bob-sleigh and other death defying downhill things :scared1: Maybe GB will win the curling again - that's probably about it though :sad2: That sure is a bargain for the 'almost' opening ceremony :cool1: I'd be happy to save over $1000 ::yes::

Happy Tuesday everyone - I get a new windscreen today :woohoo: :woohoo:

I e-mailed Pollo Campero as I was wondering if they used free range chicken, they replied and said that they did not - "we use Perdue chicken that it is not free range."

So looks like we'll be giving that a miss :sad2:

Can't believe we will hit 10 months this week, glad I have someone to share the excitement with. If any of you are looking for a pick me up from the winter weather, take a look at in the cruise forum and check out the DCL picture of the day thread:goodvibes

Thanks I'll do that when I get home - the days, weeks and months are passing by, seems pretty quick too

Snow Day here today 5 inches so far and still coming down. The univeristy closed today which is rare. We have closed for snow/ice/flooding less than 20 times in the past 20+ years I have worked here.

I am going to see The Princess and the Frog tonight. I know it is out on DVD in a couple weeks, but I figure "Disnsey's return to hand drawn animation" deserves the big screen.

I will also be supporting the Pittsfield Community Theatre. It is a town department, just like the library.

Great pictures Paul!!

We took Piper to see Disney on Ice last Thursday for her 3rd birthday. It was a fantastic show. All weekend the kids watched our cruise video. Over and over again. Cruise talk and Disney talk have been the topic of conversation at dinner for the last 2 nights.

We are getting so excited already! :cool1:

I hope you enjoyed it? I think it is worth seeing something like this on the big screen - you really appreciate the detail :goodvibes I can't believe it's almost out on DVD :scared1: we haven't even had UP yet :scared1: (out on the 15th of Feb) We have a small independent cinema and they tend to show movies a couple of months later, it's great if you don't want to pay the high cost of the regular cinema tickets and it's a lot closer to our house. They also show a lot of independent movies that don't make it to the main cinemas :thumbsup2

That's great they're all excited :cool1: :cool1: it must seem like years to a kid having to wait this long (it feels like ages to me sometimes )
I am itching to start planning stuff around the cruise :hyper: I'm trying to be patient :flower3:

Happy hump day folks!

DH has told me about what's on the Podcast (Pete's OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thing)

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be so cool :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: - not gonna say what it is incase you haven't heard the show. But I have requested a quote :thumbsup2

Back to work today, We opened on a delayed scheduled today. Due to plummeting temperatures with High Winds and more snow overnight, the roads were still tricky this morning. I managed to get to work with minimal problems, since I opted to go ahead and go in at my regular time, before traffic got bad.

I enjoyed Princess and the Frog. After it was over, I was was surprised how little screen time Tiana had as a human. She was a frog for most of the film!

I liked the backgrounds, they were like detailed paintings. But I had forgotten how "flat" the people are with hand drawn animation. I have seen too much of Pixar's rounded characters lately.

It's starting to snow here. I have interviews with wanna be vet students until 3:15 then I may make a break for it.

Just started here in Marlboro Scott. I'll make a break as well around 3 or so and have my staff meeting at home. :)

We woke up to a white covering of sleet, not snow :thumbsup2 Still very cold though, I'm hoping it will disappear during the day :goodvibes

I hope everyone is surviving the horrible weather - stay safe and warm :thumbsup2

Happy Thursday everyone, nearly Friday :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I had this same thought at the end. Like hey I would have rather seen her a princess a little bit more than the frog.

Well, she wasn't a princess until the every end. Before that, she was a hard working young woman who put ambition before love and a good time.

I'd like to see a sequel where Tiana tries to "have it all", a balanced life of love, work, and good times.

Laisse les bons ton rouler!

Definately deserves the big screen!

Hey everyone!

so far we have dodged any significant snowfall (knock wood) which has been good for me - I am still having trouble getting a mitten on! I am still off work this week, and possibly next.

I was able to supervise beignets this weekend!

They were good.

I like Paul's pictures earlier too = they made me feel warmer!

Have a great day!

Happy Thursday folks! :wave2:

Bex - the pins!

Donna - I've really got have beignets now! :goodvibes

Went to the Opening Ceremony rehearsal last nite - what a fab time! [Even tho security to get in was long queues in the rain and it was a bit of a walk to a subway stn at the end] All the "headliners" were there and they ran thru the entire show...with stand-ins for the IOC President and Governor General...talk about playing roles :rotfl2: We're sworn to secrecy to not spoil Canada's gift to the world so I won't say who or what went on but I think the OC is definitely worth watching!!! It's on Friday...if you see it, tell me what you think :happytv:

Tracey: stay safe and warm...and pls send snow this way. It rained while we were waiting to get thru security for the event yesterday and today looks like more showers. In fact 4 of the next 6 days are forecasted to be wet  ...good thing I brought my duck webbing with me :rotfl:

cheers,
:flower3:
