Happy Monday folks! :wave2:

Couldn't think of a nicer place to make my 8,000th post! :cheer2:

congrats on the milestone, Jeff! :cheer2:

Glad to hear you had a good time :goodvibes it must seem like ages since you were here last? I'm thinking we'll probably keep going on about 12 hours sleep for the whole cruise :rotfl:

Yeah, it was a bit weird getting back into a routine :lmao: I'm all caught up on the podcasts now - it was fun to hear Pete mention you on the last one. :goodvibes How was your visit with Yvette & Emiel? :rolleyes1

As fab as Princess was, those pics from Launchpad reminded me that no one tops DCL's boarding announcement! :lovestruc

cheers,
:flower3:

I had dessert/coffee (well tea and cocoa) with TWO DISers last night...(alright so they are married, big whoop. There are still TWO!!!)

We had a great time too! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
I got my Todd fix! :cheer2:
John is behaving himself as well as can be expected! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

They almost came to visit me too, however they didn't get as far north on Saturday as planned, so the extra 100 mile detour to Louisville became a no go on this trip.

I had lunch and dinner with 3 DISer's yesterday, even one of them is my husband...well maybe 4 DISer's if you count Meggie. :confused3

Jason, Jen and I went over to Jaime's for the day and we attended Vicky's memorial. I am happy we could be there to be the faces for all the DISer's that wanted to be there but couldn't be. She will be missed.

Paul's photos are fabulous. Thanks for posting them.
I am really looking forward to the cruise and the etceteras.

That was funny trying to find Dave :rotfl: We heard from Pete that he didn't have the interview recorded on his equipment and he wanted to check and make sure Dave had it - otherwise they may have had to do it again! So Pete sent a message to us, we texted Emiel, who then asked someone at DATW to text Dave that he needed to call Pete :lmao:

We had a lovely time with Yvette and Emiel :goodvibes we just enjoyed hanging out with them (mainly Yvette as Emiel had to work), we spent a day in Utrecht and had a quick look around Rotterdam - it was so cold there :cold:, we spent some time shopping in Delft, Yvette called us her little Elves/Sinterklaas slaves :rotfl: as we helped carry the groceries :santa: We had some wonderful food - including traditional Dutch New Years Eve food such as Oliebollen

And I loved the appelflappen :lovestruc
From Wikipedia On New Year's Eve, Dutch houses smell of the piping hot oil used to prepare oliebollen, appelflappen and appelbeignets (battered apple rings) in deep-fat fryers. These yeast dough balls, either plain or filled with glacé fruits, pieces of apple and raisins and sultanas, are served with powdered sugar and are a special treat for New Year's Eve. The Dutch also took their oliebollen to America, where they are now known in a slightly different form as doughnuts.

Also on New Years Eve it is the only time of year you can set off fireworks in Holland - literally from 10am until the early hours there are fireworks and firecrakers going off. We went up to the third floor of their house and we could see fireworks going off all around us (like at the end of Hallowishes!) and as it's so flat you can see for miles, it was the most incredible thing I've seen - when they told us there would be fireworks we thought ok maybe a few here and there like we have in November but it must have been every other house setting them off. If you happen to go to the Netherland around this time of year it is definately worth seeing.

We also found out Mindy is the Dutch version of Kim Possible :goodvibes - she's everywhere!

:sad1: :grouphug:

Bex: wow, those look yummy-yummy!!!...who could refuse a deep-fat fry dusted with powdered sugar :worship: Those fireworks sound a bit  :scared1: Glad it was fun to see and no one was warming by firelight that nite. ;)

Reminds me of my stupid BIL...took his young son camping in a provincial park (Algonquin in Ontario) and lit a ton of fireworks from his campsite to celebrate Canada Day. In addition to all the other lil boys from neigboring campsites who came over to watch, was the warden to hand him a ticket and fine :rotfl:

Hi Emiel

Off to FINALLY see Princess and the Frog tonite! :cloud9:

cheers,
:flower3:

We've had a bit more snow overnight - not half as bad as other areas though but it is coming down now so I hope we can get home ok

Hope everyone is having a good first week back at work? We're back into the swing of things now, it started off a bit slow but it's now business as normal
