Podcast 4.0 Fantasy 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise 12/8/2012

Wow.:) I admire your courage to bringing so many folks with you.

So, nothing like waiting until almost the last minute to hop into this thread, but I'm also going to be on this cruise with my DH and our five kids (don't laugh!), our babysitter, my mother, her husband and my 2 siblings.

No laughing here! One of my very close friends has 5 kids ;) My daughter loves going over to their house! I admire you!

Okay. Let's try this again. I mistakenly posted this on the Dec 7 2013 thread because I wasn't paying attention and I'm new to the meet threads. Anyway...

Looking forward to possible meets although with five kids, one never really knows. It may end up just being me waving maniacly while trying to wrangle the children into one place. Imagine trying to herd cats.

I'm sure my kids would love to interact with someone other than their siblings. My son is 8, and the girls are 6, 5, 3 and 16 months.

Hopefully DH and I will get a chance to meet some other parents of youngsters also! :)

Welcome aboard! My DD is 3 and will be going to the kids clubs for the first time. So it would be great if she could meet some kids her age before going to the club. We will also have our 12 week old with us and I would love it if DH could meet you and your DH. He doesn't think that there's any way we can handle any more kids but I think it's because we don't really know anyone else that has kids. Maybe you could be inspirational :goodvibes

My bff is in a Yours Mine and Ours marriage. He had 5, she had 5, they have one together, plus one older that they took in for 12 total, but 10 at home.

It can be done.

I volunteered to be baby holder when the youngest was little. Best feeling in the world being the auntie. If you need a breather, I can sit under your watch and hold that baby for you- just to ease your aching arms you know.

Love that new baby smell.

Made for a nice quiet Thanksgiving Day:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Had a great time

Soon everyone, very soon!! Woohoo

Thanks, Scott. Is there an absolute final cutoff for late additions?

For you yes, last week.

No, really I will add someone to the list on 12/7 if I get a PM, but it is with the understanding they may not receive anything in return.

I'd love to ask you all a clarifying question for the seasoned cruises and cell phones please! This cruise will be my 3rd this year however since the first two on the Dream were "only" 4 nights :rotfl: and my DH and DS were with me, I wasn't so worried about staying connected with a phone. I'm a pretty experienced iPhone user but I didn't want to worry about the excess data people swear just appear on their bills and being texted and called during the short week.

For this upcoming cruise, :cool1: I'd really like to keep my iPhone on during the week for daily texts since my DH and DS won't be with me (cruising with my Mom). I'd love to hear from others that have done this and can confirm there were no hidden data charges.

If I go into Settings and turn OFF the Cellular Data as well as the Data roaming - I should be good to go, correct? This will allow me to use the phone if needed for an emergency and text. I don't plan on using data for emails, FB, etc. I understand the texting charges vary and I think it's $0.15 and $.50 at the most. I have AT&T in case that matters.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you Heather for asking this ? !!!! I have been wondering the same thing so hopefully someone will answer :-)

I wouldn't use a cell phone but plan to use Internet at the ports to email...That is what we have always done.

I suppose I'm a little late in joining but figured I'd give it a try. I'm a DVC member and this will be our first cruise (daughter and myself). I'm a single father with custody and we will be celebrating her 6th birthday on the sail date! :cool1: hoping to meet some of you and just have a great time. Hopefully someone can help point me in the right place to meet other singles as I have a feeling my daughter will leave me behind while at the clubs on the ship. So again hope everyone has a great time and its beautiful weather! See you all soon!

Welcome!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Have you explored the navigators that list daily events on the ship? I'm they list activities by kids only, family, and adult only. I'm sure you will find plenty to do.

Hello Everyone! We are new! Our cruise is just a week away. We are getting married on 12/12/12 and I was wondering if anyone else is getting married or will be on their honeymoon? We have a self-uniting marriage license and will be celebrating quietly by ourselves since this is a second marriage for us both. We would love to meet others and welcome any suggestions. I am trying to find door decorations for our life changing event. We have 5 kids and a Granddaughter between us who are all jealous, but we will bring them with us the next time! This is my 5th DCL cruise and the 2nd one for my DH 2 B.

We are getting very excited to be sailing in one week!!! Has anyone here signed their children up for any of the youth activities. My TA told us we could do it when we boarded the ship. In looking over our travel documents, it says you can pre-register online. However, I can't find anywhere on the website to pre-register.

I you have been able to pre-register, can you direct to where on the cruise line website you were able to do so?

TIA

Congrats on your upcoming wedding aboard The Fantasy!! For door decor I highly recommend going on the forum cruise magnets and graphics and find the link for milliepies photobucket files....she has some awesome mickey ear bride and groom and other adorable honeymoon stuff! If u are even fair with the computer u can easily download the graphics then open them with a photo program and use Microsoft word to make the lettering (I downloaded a free Disney font online) if you can't do them yourself y may find someone on the forum kind enough to make them and send you the files :)
Have fun!
