PodCast 4.0 Chit Chat

Anytime I don't have to do the cooking and cleaning :thumbsup2......

So, I guess I'm not tooo picky.

Wondering why you think service will be lacking. Reviews I've read on cruise critic about the Epic have been great on service. Is it just cause you think Disney has way above average service? It is typically good but I have also had some of our worst service issues on DCL as well.

I almost didn't write that part considering there is a bias on these boards. If my trip had stayed like the first two days were I don't think I would ever travel on DCL again. That said, things got turned around pretty quickly to make a big enough impression for me to book 2 more. The reason I think DCL could have an advantage is the fact the same server/*** server for your entire stay. I have read mixed reviews about NCL/RCCL but still like to keep an open mind. Especially since we all know that the other lines are cheaper.

I would have posted sooner, but St Louis got hit pretty hard last night by a tornado. I was driving into our station when it landed right on top of where I was driving. What is amazing is that my station is 2 1/2 miles away and it was sustained some damage. I had a couple of the guys ask me why I didn't take pictures while I was on the road. I told them that the power lines where exploding and the poles weer leaning from one side of the road to the other. I kept thinking I was going to be stuck if the lines fell which they didn't. I think the only reason my truck wasn't blown off the road is the road I was on was about 12 feet lower than the dike that was shielding it from the tornado. Its amazing seeing the damage now that one in ST Louis died. Is it cruise time yet?!h:lmao:

WOW! Scary tornados. Glad you are okay.
I find tornados much scarier than winter blizzards.

Its insane. The last time I saw this sort of devastation was when I went through OK in '99 when a EF5 hit there. This one was EF4. The pictures are heartbreaking. I talked to several of my customers today and was told countless times about how friends homes were spared only to have their neighbors home and the whole street destroyed.

Looked at the photos.
And the caption that reads, "after what residents believe was a tornado". Believe? What else? Oh, gee, a heavy wind blew my house down? The big bad wolf huffed and puffed my house down?

The tornado damage is devasting!

Paula - a trip to Australia and New Zealand is high on my bucket list, but it would probably be a one-time thing due to the distance. How fortunate that you'll be coming here THREE times in less than 18 months!

I consider myself very lucky that I have a great job that pays well and an understanding boss who lets me do these trips. Its not without sacrifice though - heck, I don't go to the movies as they cost too much, I don't remember the last time I went out to dinner and my car is still going strong for a 1993 model. But I travel... every cent is squirreled away for the next trip somewhere. :)

I've been on two Disney cruises, but have never set foot in a pool. Is that odd?

No, I only got in the pool briefly for the first time on the WBTA last year - it was cruise number 4. I don't have time for swimming, I can swim at home ;)

Wow - sorry to hear about this, I don't think it made the news here, we are too caught up with our own natural disaster at the moment.

Heartbreaking. :confused3

G'day Paula

I hope you are relaxing on the ANZAC day break. I am looking forward to some trans Tasman rivalry on PCC 4.0. But I am going to have to really study up on my cricket, as on PCC 2.0 as soon as the Indian servers heard my accent - all the conversation went to cricket.

Home cities were based on where Adam Gilchrist came from as he is HUGE in the subcontent. Our South African server was cool - he preferred rugby - but fair warning.

It is of couse going to be freaky again to leave Summer to go to Winter for the PCC 4.0 - totally unnatural wearing heavy clothes in December.

cheers

Tracey

Good Morning Everyone !!! Hope your Easter was nice. Great weather here today.....felt like Summer yesterday....this week will be very warm....I broke down and turned the A/C on yesterday....I had to. I started to paint my spare room, and I couldn't deal with the heat...now I just have to finish the room this week...trying to sort things out and get the house organized.

Good Morning Everyone !!!! 591 days until we sail on the Fantasy....just in case anyone else is counting down.

Almost time to go home for the day.....have a great evening.

Yay - no tornadoes tonight - perhaps it will be a smooth drive home. Gotta love Texas in the spring!!

Hi Tracey - you lose me completely on the sport(s) I'm afraid. I don't know anything about any of them. I didn't even recognise Dan Carter when he came into the office once - probably if he'd been standing in his underwear I might have though :rotfl2: But then as they say, rugby is a game for men with odd shaped balls.

December here can often be a mixed bag - I know WA is usually pretty toasty by then but our best months are January-March. We had a stinking hot (for us this late in the season) couple of days this past weekend 25C+ but Monday was rotten and its hitting near freezing tonight.

It'll be interesting traveling in cooler weather thats for sure - at least it'll be comfortable around the theme parks hopefully.

Good morning everyone!

My name is Andrea. My DH (Brian) and I are booked to go on podcast 4.0. This will be our second cruise. We are scheduled to be on the Dream this October. I am so excited to start cruising and to have two cruises booked in the next year and a half!

I am the Disney fanatic in our house and Brian is along for the ride. We are headed to WDW in a couple weeks to attend Destination D, see some friends from our Adventures by Disney trip from 2008 and hit the parks for a couple of days.

Looking forward to meeting everyone! :thumbsup2

Hey Everyone !!!! Been a really busy day at work..had no time to get on the boards until just now....and I'll be leaving soon to go home. Weather is sketchy today.....sun, then dark clouds...a little rain, then more sun, then dark clouds, a little rain.....you get the picture...suppose to have some thunderstorms tonight into tomorrow...but we've heard that before and have got nothing, so we'll see.

I hope to get into chat for a little while tonight...maybe I'll see some of you there.

I just want the humidity to go away for a little longer. Doesn't matter I am headed to the freezing tundra of Michigan for the weekend.
