Happy Monday Everyone. Hopefully, you have the day off and a short work-week ahead. Hope everyone enjoyed fireworks last night.

Anna and I are off to play 9 holes of par 3 golf today.

Thanks for the countdown update Kelly - 160 days..... Wooooo!!! :goodvibes

What is everyone thinking about doing on the cruise? Excursions? Palo? etc.

I'll probably be doing the 5K on Castaway Cay, hopefully a Palo brunch. I don't plan on getting off the ship at Nassau this time.

We have friends who live in Nassau so depending on what is going on with the cruise, we may visit or have lunch with them. Other than that and some bike riding on Castaway we are going to be excursion free.

Hello everyone! Glad to have the extra day off.

We spent the day at a car show on Saturday. I got way too hot that evening cleaning all of the sap off of my car in the garage - the punishment for our group parking in a nice shady spot under somes locust trees at the car show.

Phillip and I went to look at a classic car collection at another car show yesterday, then stopped at Olive Garden for some soup, salad, and breadsticks (yummy!), finally coming home to veg out a bit before he mowed the lawn and I cooked dinner on the grill. Our evening was topped off watching the downtown fireworks from our back patio.

Phillip has to work 1/2 day today. I've been doing laundry and all of the things I would usually do on Sunday. :)

We won't be setting foot off the boat in Nassau either, just Castaway Cay. We probably won't plan Palo for dinner (less dressy clothes to pack) or brunch (since that timeframe may be when podcast events are - unless we know otherwise beforehand - which is doubtful).

I plan to stay on the ship in Nassau, too. I want to do Palo on the second night, but I haven't gotten a firm "yes" from anyone to join me.

Hello Everyone!! I spent my morning at the YMCA... I walked for 45 minutes and took in a water aerobics class.

I am not sure what I am doing for shore excursions. Haven't really thought about it yet, though I have looked at the offerings both at Nassau & at Castaway Key.

5 months from yesterday.. I arrive at WDW for my pre-cruise stay.

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a terrific 4th of July!
Jeff and I are off today. I'm heading out to get some invitations for Millie's b-day party coming up soon. She's having a friend over to go swimming for awhile this afternoon, then she has swim practice. After that we are going to see Toy Story 3 in 3-D. Can't wait!
Have a great Monday, and stay cool!

I figured you'd be getting your hair wrapped in Nassau!!! :rotfl2:

So we got back from this mornings walk, rested, ate a light lunch, then walked to Staples and Walmart to look at computers.

I am looking for two laptops for the library for patron use. $500 - $600. Any suggestions?

I am going to get off in Nassau, just because I can and I have never been there.

Perhaps just walk around. The gardens, maybe.

Palo - just how dressy is the dress code? Sparkles and sequins? Or, just nice?
I would like to join people at Palo.

It depends on whether you're going for brunch or dinner.

I found this here on wdwinfo.com. It doesn't say anything about women though. Ladies definitely are dressier than what some folks wear to the regular dining rooms in the evening in my experience - although I don't think "formal" is necessary.:

Palo:
During dinner, gentlemen will be required to wear a dress shirt. Gentlemen wearing polo shirts, t-shirts, Tommy Bahama style shirts, etc will not be allowed admittance. Jackets and/or ties are recommended but not required. Notices will be in the Personal Navigator, on the Palo reservation card and a sign outside the elevators on deck 10 will contain this dress advisory. The Resort Casual dress code for both the brunch and high tea remains unchanged.

This is from the DCL site:
Dress Code
At dinner, a dress shirt or jacket is required to be worn for men and a dress or pantsuit is required to be worn by women. No jeans allowed. At brunch and high tea, attire is cruise casual, meaning no shorts, jeans, swimwear or tank tops.

Hey all! Back from the beach and had a great weekend.

I don't think plan anything extra, we'll just do the Podcast events and try to relax a bit

Oh that's nice! At least they know of a good place to eat living there :thumbsup2

:cool1: Love the colours :lovestruc

Do you know where these are on sale? They are my favourite design yet :cloud9:

Not sure we'll get off in Nassau or not. Gotta see what my non Dis friends want to do. :goodvibes

I'm loving those bags....off to search for some now.

Wow it's quiet today - are you all sleeping off your hangovers :rotfl:

Nope, no hangy here. Hiding from the heat though. ::yes::

Folks.. My countdown clock says.......

160 days
.
Just in case you needed to know for some reason :goodvibes

Hi Kelly. Well now, so does mine!

Let's see now. 2.0 plans? Want to do Palo but not sure what night just yet. Maybe brunch instead of dinner.

Unless Deb does a 360, I'll be going to Atlantis on Nassua. :headache: She wants to see the resort/casino but does not care about the waterpark/beach. So I need to research the ala-carte options for Atlantis. It won't be a DCL excursion I'll tell you that. I would personally like to do the segway tour on Nassua but if I could just stay on the ship instead I'd do that too.

I just put an AC in Deb's craft room. Maybe she'll throw me a bone or something. :scratchin

Val & I didn't get off the ship last year in Nassau. But I will say that Chris Wing's description of Atlantis over dinner that night sounded pretty interesting. Still, I'm not at all sure we will debark in Nassau this trip either.

 Is anyone planning on going to Atlantis while in Nassau? :thumbsup2 Right now, that is our plan. Seeing Atlantis from the ship while in port was such a tease during our last cruise. I'm not sure if we're going to do the Disney excursion (Atlantis Aquaventure) which now includes use of the pool and slides or on our own by taxi and renting a room at the Comfort Suites. I priced the two and renting two rooms (we have six people in our little group) is cheaper than the Disney excursion. ($860 vs $569.68 plus taxi fare) However, we'd have to be careful to make sure to get a taxi back to port in time or we'll be waving to y'all from the dock. :rolleyes1

Last time, we made our own excursion by walking from port to the British Colonial Hilton and payed to use their facilities ($20 per adult, the kids were free.) However while swimming on their beach, we encountered soda can plastic rings and trays thrown overboard by passing cruise ships. So, I personally DON'T recommend their beach for swimming. :sad2: But, the facility was nice.

We "plan" to do Palo dinner and brunch. Also, martini tasting has piqued Bill's interest. That is, if we are able to get reservations. With this many knowledgeable DCL people onboard, we'll need to be on top of making our reservations or does DU do that for us????? Has anyone done the Galley Tour. I might be interested in that too, time permitting. We really want to do all the DIS events onboard. :thumbsup2 So, those will take precedence over the DCL events. :wizard:
