We are going to the Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos for a weekend trip on friday. Any advise of places to see or dining spots for a family??? Thanks for the help :thumbsup2

The Crossings outlet in Tannersville has a ton of stores. And across the highway there is Camelbeach water park (it's more known as camelback in the winter since it's a nice ski resort).

American Candle Factory is about 20 minutes down the road from 'The Crossings' and is a HUGE candle shop, cheap candy by the barrell (pay by the pound mix and match), it's got lots of nick nacks for the house. My mom loves it there.

John's Italian Restaurant in Hamlin is good too!

I have no advice for you, but wanted to let you know that I will be there from Thursday to Friday with my kids and 2 of their friends. It looks like there is a lot of choices not to far from the Lodge to eat. We are planning to get there Thursday afternoon, check in, let the kids swim, leave for a late dinner and then go back. On Friday, we will probably just eat at the breakfast buffet to save time and let the kids play till they tire out. My kids are 13 and 11 and their friends are 14 and 12.
I know someone did a review (Papaduece, I think) that you might want to read.

If you end up near Lake Harmony...you MUST eat at Piggies. It's a tiny little place, but the breakfast there is the best I've ever had anywhere. It's always a must on our list when we are up there.

My recommendation...the french toast. They have a granola crunch toast that's dipped in batter, glazed and covered with this yummy sweet granola, it's to die for. And so nutritious... :sad2:

They also have a cinnamon french toast that's glazed that is excellent.

Did I mention that I love that place???

Thanks so much for the info!!

Ottosdoll~ I have 3 boys under 5 yrs old  . I think they;ll love the indoor water park.

Miller1412~ Piggies sounds awesome I'll have to kidknap everyone and take them there!!

I was there a week and 1/2 ago with my Mom, DS 12, my sister and her 2 DD's, both 3. We checked in around 1:30 on a Thursday and the room was ready. We had a room right off the lobby, I think it was 2050, but am not positive. It was really nice and clean and we had a patio which opened to the grass, if that makes sense?. I loved this location although it was considered 2nd floor, it was so convenient. We did eat the dinner buffet, which was really delicious, and the breakfast buffet, which was average. I know adults pay about $22 for dinner, kids 4-10 about $15 and 3 and under are free, which my 2 nieces were. The breakfast was about $15 for adults, $9 for 4- 10, and free for 3 and under. My sister didin't want to leave the grounds to eat, but there was a diner when you exit the lodge and if you turn right. I'm sure they'd serve all 3 meals and it would be lots cheaper. We loved the waterpark. There is a cute area for kids with 4 different slides. The water is about 1 1/2 ft there. The lazy river is fun and my nieces did go on the big slides too, but, with an adult on the tube slides. The 2 open slides near the swimming pool there were able to go down alone. My sister would go down and then wait at the bottom while I put them on at the top. There were no lines at all. There is also a nice outdoor pool, but, it was too cold when we were there to use it. There is storytime at 8:00 and the kids can wear their pajamas. I hope this helps and you have a great time. Any other questions, I'll be happy to help! :sunny:
