POC - Refurb only or new features?

Just curious if anyone has any insight into the POC closure. I think I recall mention of new boats but any other new enhancements heard of?

Not exactly sure the whole reasoning for the refurb but I do hope they fix what ever problems that caused the ride to go down so suddenly in the past. It seemed to happen a lot the last couple of trips we were there, our family has been stuck on that ride more times then any other ride in WDW. I love POTC (one of my all time favorite Disney rides), so I hope it gets fixed properly.

It is a long shutdown (almost four months), so I am guessing it will be pretty substantial work.

That is exactly what i have been thinking too. I haven't heard too much buzz around it which is why I thought i would ask. Thanks!

I know one of the biggest things they were working on repairing was the boats were bottoming out and getting stuck at the end of the drop. From my understanding they're just trying to fix a lot of things that were broken, trying to get it back to where it was. I've not heard any word on "new" stuff but I'm kind of hopeful as well...we'll see in about a month.

I'm thinking there might be new boats if anything since they had so many problems with the recent ones.

We haven't heard about anything new. It's taking so long because the ride was in deep disrepair.
