With the new discount code that just became available, we decided to switch from HIFS to PO-FQ. Thanks for all your tips! I was all set to request Bldg. #4, until I read it was a designated smoking building. This is not our preference. I want something close to the bus and the food court. Gee, close to pool would be great too. Plus we are driving and it would be nice to be close to the parking lot. Sounds like I want it all, doesn't it? What building do you recommend?

Also, do you consider the rooms clean and well-maintained? Are some buildings better than others? We stayed at CBR in 2000 before the rennovation. The resort was wonderful, but I was disappointed in the stained carpet, chipped walls, and moldy bathroom. Don't want to repeat that!

Thanks for your input!

Building Four may not be a complete smoking building (sometimes they just designate one floor of a building for smoking rooms). We stayed in a non-smoking room in Buidling Four in December. We had a fantastic room--third floor on a corner, right next to the food court (a 30 second walk), and close to the bus stop (a minute walk). I believe the room number is 4326.

We stayed in building 5 and it was all of the things you wanted. In my room request, I noted that one of our traveling companions was older and could not walk long distances so we would like to be within walking distance of both the bus stop and the boat dock and in addition, near the elevator. The room we were assigned was the first room facing the open green space, we turned the corner and were right at the elevator which drops you right by the pool. It was less than 2 mins. to the bus stop/food court/parking lot and less than 1 min. to the boat dock.

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate your help. The resort area must be a lot cozier than it looks on the map. Two minutes from Bldg. 5 to the bus stop/parking lot is great. And knowing that Bldg. 4 is not necessarily all smoking is helpful too. How are the rooms though? Would you consider them clean and kept up?

In November of '02 we had a third floor corner room in Building 5(what we requested). We loved the location. The stairs were right around the corner from our room. The only elevator was at the other end of the building so we never used it. I couldn't believe how close everything was to our room! The room was very clean I thought. The bathroom was definitely older, but it was clean (but SMALL). One nice thing was having the two sinks outside the bathroom. That made mornings and bedtime really easy!

We (myself and 2 children ages 8 and 5) just returned from POFQ yesterday and absolutely loved it! We were in building 6 and even though it was the next to the last, nothing was a very far walk. I don't think it tok more than 3-4 minutes to get to bus stop, pool, or food court. It appeared that all buildings are close parking because the lots seem to stretch the front length of the buildings.
POFQ was very "homey" (did I make up a new word?) with lots of courtyards and trees. We found it quiet and relaxing. The kids loved the pool and slide. In fact, even though it has more of an "adult atmosphere" compared to some heavily Disney character themed resorts, my children said they would like to return.
Have a great time!
