My wife and I have stayed at Port Orleans-French Quarter twice and are now booked at Coronado Springs (where we have not stayed) for mid-December. We are toying with the thought of changing to PO-FQ, if available, as we enjoyed it so much in the past. I would appreciate opinions from anyone who has stayed at BOTH resorts. Thanks in advance.

I am sure that you will get a host of differing opinions, however, we much prefer the PO section. We stayed at both PO & CS last Dec. and enjoyed PO more. CS was lovely, but it was just not our favorite. You never know, you may find that you like CS better! Good luck!

Well, I haven't stayed at FQ. But we stayed at POR in May, and CSR January '01.
Between the two, I would pick CSR in a heartbeat.
But I think it comes down to what you want/need/like. Even whichever theming you like best.
The spa (Disney-speak for hot tub), (standard/no extra charge) in-room coffeemaker, theming, Pepper Market and bus service is what would pull us to CSR first.
The boat ride to DTD is a plus. But that's about all I can think of, from our experience and what we would like.

Between the two choices PO or CSR I would pick PO. We have stayed at many Disney resorts. We were at POR in October and enjoyed it. Since I like to use the health club I did not know until check-in that PO guest can use the spa at the Disney Instiute, which is next to PO. It was great! However, you will need a car or if you take a cab and keep the receipts it is my understanding that you will receive a credit when you check out. The spa is a five minute ride by car next to OKW and located in the LBV golf course.

Prior to our last trip I may have picked CSR because of the convenience of using the health club. At CSR you don't need any transportation. I like the landscaping and ambeience of both resorts.
Hey, it is Disney you will enjoy where ever you stay!! Enjoy!!

A few reasons why we love CSR...great transportation that isn't shared with another resort, coffeemakers in the room, awesome pool area and a great foodcourt.

Check out my site below for info

i have never stayed at either one but it seems tome that most people are happy at PO, and with CSR, either they love it or dont like it at all.

if you are hesitant, then switch to PO.

have a great time!!! :)

Laura :)

We stayed at POFQ our first trip to WDW so it holds a special place in our hearts. We also stayed at CSR for a December trip. I prefer POFQ, but thought that CSR would be very romantic for a couples only trip. Have fun.

We stayed at PO FQ for one night during a previous trip then the remainder of the trip at CBR when they didn't have any rooms for our first night...we really didn't like it all. No bad experiences just not the atmsophere we thought it would be. Thought the theme was rather dull. CBR and CSR were great, but we really loved CSR!! Good luck..I would try CSR...you may find you like it!

I have stayed at both and liked POR much better. CSR is huge, they charge 10% for bringing you your food at the Pepper Market. They don't do that at POR. I don't use the coffee maker in the room when I have my mug. Much longer walk to the main pool at CSR.

They are both nice places but this trip the only thing they had was CSR. I kept checking and finally got POR. I would have been ok with CSR but like POR much better.

It depends on you taste. We personally feel more at home at PO-FQ. We like the small feel, the food court, and everything being very centralized. Plus, we can still take advantage of the amenities at PO-R, by just hopping on the shuttle boat.

As for CSR-- we have yet to stay there... it just doesn't appeal very much to us. It is SO spread out, and we are just not into the 10% surcharge at the food court. We can get our own drink refills, and don't mind plasticwear, thank you!

Even though, yes, it does have a coffee maker (we don't drink coffee), room service (we never use it) and a gym (who has time at Disney anyway?)... we find that it caters to the conventioneer, which is great... but we don't go on vacation to hobnob with the conventioneers.

The pool to us would be the only great draw... and that is due to the slide.

So, for us, Po-FQ would be a no brainer!

Although I won't be able to tell you which I like better until after our December trip; I can say that I had to make a similar choice.

We have stayed at the Poly before, but not concierge. We have however, stayed at AKL concierge and I *know* I love it!!! I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Our December trip has us staying at the Poly concierge because we have never stayed there. We based our desision on the fact that we want to experience every resort on Diseny property, so that we will know what *we* like best and why.

Good luck and have a great trip!

As for CSR-- we have yet to stay there... it just doesn't appeal very much to us. It is SO spread out

How can you say it is so spread out if you've never stay there? It isn't as bad as it is made out to be. Some sections are very close to everything and some are not. I'm sure that can be said for all the resorts.

We have stayed at CSR two times and POFQ two times. We also have stayed at POR, CBR and WL. CSR is my favorite out of all of them:) DH and I just got back from an 8 night stay at POFQ. The grounds are lovely and the rooms are clean but not as new as CSR. The carpets are a little worn. The hot tub is tiny and usually filled with kids. The hot tub at CSR is huge. We have also seen less little ones there in general- so it is nice for an adult trip. Since there are quiet pools at CSR, the pools tend to be less busy as well. There is no sit down restaurant at POFQ there is at CSR and I like their food court better-much bigger. The boat to DD at FQ is a great plus and we used it a lot! The busses are a LOT slower compared to CSR. They were also packed all the time. At least POFQ is the first to be picked up and dropped off. Because CSR does not share busses with another resort, it takes minutes to get to AK, MGM and Epcot. It is a bit longer to MK. We wanted to stay at CSR this time but they were not offering discounts so we went with POFQ. They have now started offering discounts again (AP, codes.)

I was amazed at how much smaller CSR was than I thought it was going to be when I checked in last August. CBR and POR Riverside are just as spread out if not more so.

One of the things we were most impressed with was the proximity to Epcot and MGM. CSR is just around the corner from either park. You can see the Dolphin and Tower of Terror from the resort.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. The Pepper Market had great service and selection. It was well worth the 10%. It was also nice being seated. We never had to worry about finding a table. The Maya Grill has a terrific breakfast buffet. Panchito's Gifts And Sundries is HUGE. They have an excellent selection of Disney and Non-Disney Merchandise.
I truly felt this hotel was a cut above the other moderates. It felt deluxe to me with its ammenities and decor.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :D

I have video clips on my website if you want to take a peek. The rest (Casitas, Cabanas & El Centro) will be loaded within the next couple of days.
