FYI: Eyes & Ears/WDW Cast Portal annoucement:
Guest rooms to open at Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter
Date: 04/01/2002

Based on strong guest demand, Walt Disney World Co., will make guest rooms available at Disney's Port Orleans Resort French Quarter beginning on May 31.

All resort facilities and amenities will be open and available to guests, including the river cruise to the Downtown Disney area.



(If all facilities are open, this must include the restaurant and food court as well!)

Our TA just called today about this. We got our ressies bumped from FQ to the Dolphin when FQ was closed. Now they want to know if we want to move back! Now, I know that FQ is the favorite Moderate for a lot of folks, but I think we'll stick with the Dolphin.

I'm really glad to hear that they have listened to guest "demand". I think it's great that tourism is bouncing back! Having to close the parks at Easter?! I'm sure this came as quite a surprise to a lot of folks in charge down there. Hopefully, a large number of Disney employees who were laid off after 9/11 will get their jobs back!
