Teva- Congratulations! He is such a cutie pie!

Well, we made it home from Tennessee last night. It seemed to take forever! Had a great time though visiting with his mom and his little niece and nephews. They have all gotten so big!
So, for those who may have read a blurb on Facebook, my husband has accepted a new job. It's in the same field (fiber optics) except this time he is working for a company that contracts for the military. He does each job contract by contract, so he can choose whether to accept or not as they come along.
For his first one, he leaves this Tuesday and will be gone 3-4 months. This particular job is in Kuwait! He doesn't get any leave time with this contract but if he stays on for the next one, which is 8 months, then that would total a year commitment so he will get a month off, divided up any way he wants. They will also fly him wherever he want to go. So if we want to meet in Italy for a week, we can.

The pay is outstanding, plus they put him up in an apartment, give him a vehicle and pay all the gas. The only thing he'll need to buy is food and fun, although he can eat at the dining facilities on base for free if he wants. All the work is done on the base. It's a great opportunity that will open a lot of doors and we can pay off all our our debt and start socking money away. Guess that's one benefit to having an empty nest, we can do such things.

The only hard part of course will be him being away but I'm sure the time will fly by. Aaron and his girlfriend (soon to be DIL!) will be staying with me until the end of October, then they plan to go back north so I will be by myself here, unless of course they change their minds and decide to stay.

So, tons to do over the next few days to get him ready to go.....
